Optus and QFF - Phone Plans

Yeah, got the email

I see the new $59 plan has similar inclusions but no international roaming.

The old $59 plan, which I am on now, had 3gb roaming data per month and unlimited calls among 35 countries. I hadn't realised this when I came to Azerbaijan and it is an unexpected bonanza. I am calling Netherlands, Australia, Hungary and NZ for zip. The only downside is Optus' often s****y call quality. when you call Australia.

Just wondering if I shifted to the $79 plan from the $59 plan using my existing number if I get the sign on points. Doesn't look so.

Yes, my existing plan is postpaid and I'd want to keep my main number on the plan with the international roaming.

Looks like one of those situations where existing custmers are losers. Been there before.

Cheers skip

If you sign up to the $39/$59 without international roaming data included, is there an option to purchase XXGB when you do eventually head O/S as part of this plan/offer?

Be careful of the $39 plan - the main page says it includes 5G access, but the fine print says it only includes 4G plus. I also note that international calls, SMS or MMS *ARE NOT POSSIBLE* from any of these plans according to the fine print. I call overseas daily, so I'll be keeping my normal Optus $39 plan which INCLUDES international calls and 5G access.

Beware of ineligible destinations, there are many, for example Dubai.

cheers skip, who spends half his working life in zone 2

I am happy with my optus plan with optus itself instead of Qantas version of the plans

A couple of years ago I signed up with Optus and I never got my points. I contacted Optus, and they said that I never registered before signing up (not true) so there was little I could do really. Sounds like they are up to their old tricks.

They're pushing a lot of offers via flybuys as well, I'm also happy with my $49 optus plan that still seems to include 4gb roaming.
darnit, I just got notice today that in May they're discontinuing the plan with 4GB included roaming and pushing me on to another plan without. Anyone found anything comparable lately?
