Openflights vs MyFlightRadar24

Copy and Paste? !

I'm cleaning the data in my .csv and will attempt importing when I have time. 1975 is a few though - I hope I don't need to do 50 at a time.
Instead of copy & paste I suggest trying find & 'repace all' if your editor allows it (Excel does).

Thanks, I'm sorting by columns as well as whatever works most efficiently.

I considered a vbscript but decided against it. (have worked in IT since 1980 ... ;)

After thinking about this a few weeks ago; saved the data from AFF I am now going through my 700 flights, lucky its not 1970 that would be time consuming.

Now deciding what do you call an aircraft.

Is it a Boeing 737 or a B737 or a Boeing 737-800(BSI) or is it a Fokker 50 or a Fokker F50, you get the idea.

Does any one remember the Impulse Airlines 2 digit code and was it 2011 or earlier when Virgin switched from DJ to VA.

AFF kept using the V Australia bit.

I just tried adding the myFlightradar24 banner to my AFF signature to see what it would look like. It seems to work well.

You can find the banner code to copy & paste into your signature under Settings > Banner on the myFlightradar24 website.

km, what are they?! :p

Myflightradar seems to be better, so I uploaded 700 flights and only got 240 something, I think I have an error in the date.

Lucky I can delete all the data and start again.

The subscription of $9.99 for a year for silver seems like a cheap price, maybe not worthwhile.

Would anyone have access to any old Ansett flight timetables.

Looking for the flight numbers

April 1996 BNE-TSV 9:00am departure
April 1996 TSV-BNE 4:30pm departure (727?

april 1997 BNE-PER A320 7:30pm departure Friday evening,
April 1997 PER-BNE 11:30pm departure Friday evening; (a week later)

My first 20 flights or so I can picture the time of day and the aircraft but no idea on the flight numbers.

Great! Now if I could just remember where in AFF the option to update your signature is...!

I found it useful to load a few records/data points at a time to work out what is right and wrong. Then after the majority is correct, delete what you loaded, fix up the csv and bulk load it correctly leaving just a few tweaks at the end.

ISTR that if you have a Flightradar24 subscription (Silver or Gold) for tracking flights, this is included for removing ads and the like, it's more than just the log of flights that you get for the price.

Only available to paid up members, possibly even just Gold rather than Silver?
Correct, it is a benefit of a Gold subscription.

I've finally been able to successfully import my 1400 odd flights into MF24 in one hit.
The two problems I encountered were the airline names and the aircraft types.
My solution was to work out the numeric values for the aircraft types and airline names that MF24 used, then convert my export from OF to the new numeric values and rename the column names to Airline_id and Aircraft_id.

Additionally, the MF24 team are on the ball with requests - the heliport on Heron Island was not in their database so I sent a request to be added and bam three hours later an email confirming it was added.
