OOL Car Rentals

Hi Guys,

Im thinking of hiring a car for my trip in OOL next week, but the only thing that turns me off hiring is the age rental surcharge! I'm currently 21 and after browsing through all the car rental options, the cheapest is Hertz, 5 days for $190 and $150 for age surcharge. Is there a way around the age surcharge or do I just bite the bullet?

Unfortunately this is pretty standard across all companies as far as I'm aware. Have paid this numerous times when I was under 25 begrudgingly.

Bite the bullet and pay the surcharge and have something to look forward to when your 25, after spending a few years building up a safe driver record.

If you're under 25, you may also be on a P license.
Make sure that when you pick a car rental company that they don't hit you with a second fee or, worse, not allow you to collect. From memory, Avis actually didn't allow rentals to one of those groups (can't remember if it was P plates or under 25).

From my experiences a few years ago, RedSpot were quite competitive for young drivers.
