Hi Guys,

I have tried to research it myself but some of the info is getting outdated and there is SO much to chose/learn about them all for me to pick one for each destination. I am trying to compile a list of lounges the Ms and I should be visiting on our upcoming oneworld award booking. It will all be in business so will be with whatever oneworld can provide at each location. If you could help suggest what lounge/s to go to at each destination that would help me out a lot, or any suggestions on maximizing the value!

No current status held with any OW sadly. Will have the choice of whatever J class allows. Also just got rid of my AMEX's before the devalue.

Itinerary:
Airline - Departing airport (depart time)
CX - BNE (00:55) - T1
CX - HKG (10:00) - T1
CX - TPE (13:00)
AY - NRT (09:50) - T2
AY - HEL (15:40) - T2
AY - BGO (11:20)
BA - STO (21:20) -T2
BA - LHR (14:55) - T5
BA - CDG (07:25) - T2A
BA - LHR (14:20) - T5
AA - LGA (05:40) - TB
QF - DFW (22:25) - TD
QF - SYD (08:00) - T3

Hi Knobbs - my views (no idea on BGO or STO sorry!):

BNE - QF
HKG - QF, CX Wing, Pier and Bridge (this is the place to lounge hop, all solid options)
TPE - CX
NRT - JL or AA (comparable, both good but neither particularly outstanding)
HEL - AY (any status? AY's best lounge is only for OW status pax, no-status J won't get you entry)
LHR - CX and/or QF if T3, BA if T5
CDG - CX
LHR - As above
LGA - I think AA is your only option, but might need status to access AA here
DFW - AA (but go for Amex if you have access)
SYD - QF (only option)

Happy travels.

You didn’t mention if you had any status as that would open up your options also especially in HKG and LHR

Apologies, only status I have is Vrigin Gold so won't help me squat on this journey haha. Will amend OP

With the oneworld airport lounges site Lounge Access | oneworld it has for every lounge a list of eligible airlines then says,
  • Access for eligible customers traveling on any oneworld member airline.
Is this just a formatting error where it lists some oneworld airlines then says any oneworld airline?

Hard to say for sure without a specific example. However I don’t think it an error.

Take LHR which is on your itinerary. The BA lounges say:
  • Access for eligible customers traveling on any oneworld member airline.
Same for the MH lounge.

But the QR lounge says:
  • For Qatar Airways and oneworld First and Business class ticketed revenue customers only. Guests are not permitted.

Sorry an example would provide more information haha.

Take LHR and the lounge British Airways Galleries Club Lounge at terminal 5. The airlines tab has:
  • British Airways
  • Iberia Airlines
  • Access for eligible customers traveling on any oneworld member airline.
Does the last dot point not include British Airways and Iberia anyway? Just trying to see what they are trying to differentiate there if not a mistake.

I think they are generally differentiating between what is the prime lounge by agreement (ie. Where they will likely provide you directions to) and then other access that may be available by oneworld elite or oneworld class of service rights.

Not sure when your travel is but
NRT - JL main terminal lounges under redevelopment and there has been some limits put in access for non-JL pax. AA, or the JL satellite probably better than QF
HEL - Also under renovation in stages. Won't fully open until June.
DFW - New AA Flagship lounge set to open mid-late May. Current temporary facility is average. If you have plenty of time the AA lounge in Terminal A best of the others, easy accessed via the SkyTrain (which is good for spotting in any event)

Assume by the end of it you will have some oneworld status. I'd think it should get you to Gold on QFF

I unfortunately am not that well off that I have paid for the tickets with cash :p it is all an award booking, so no status at the end of it.

Our first flight is on the 15th of June and last is out on the 28th of July. I read the review of the renovation going on in HEL AY lounges so that looks to be nice. Was just a little confused with the lounge for schengen and non-schengen. We are flying from Bergen (Norway) through HEL to LHR so will be non-schengen .

So basically its just priority airlines then if applicable eligible customers on other oneworld flights?
