Hi

I am hoping that you can help

My travel agent has booked an AA JFK-SFO in 1st class for my parents (they are remarrying in Vegas to celebrate being married for 40 years), they have a 12 hour wait (cheapest flight i could get!) before their next flight with QF SFO-SYD also in 1st class (frequent flyer points!).

My question is, as the bookings are totally seperate will their bags get checked straight through to Syd or will they have to recheck them in. Will having 12 hours between the flight make any difference? They are in their 60's and although very young at heart, get a bit stressed in these circumstances. Mum is QC Life & both are QF bronze.

Many thanks in advance
Ann

When checking in at JFK, they will need to show the e-ticket receipt for the QF SFO-SYD flight. Then the AA check-in agent should be able to tag the bags through to SYD. They probably will not be able to issue the Boarding Pass for SFO-SYD in JFK since the flights are not linked in the AA system, but that should not stop them tagging the bags through.

You cal always try calling AA and have them reference the QF connection in the AA PNR (it goes in a connection information segment).

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Don't forget to have them contact Qantas to get their F class seats allocated for the SFO SYD leg. You never know, but it would be ashame to have them seated separately.
