Guys,

I hope you can help me here.

I want to do this itinerary -

Sydney - Buenos Aires - Miami - Los Angeles - Honolulu - Sydney

Is that possible with the OW Circle Pacific?

Circle Pacific - oneworld

Do I book these with Qantas's phone line? I can't seem to be able to check flights for these on the OW site?

Is the value as good as the proper RTW fares?

So many questions! Sorry, thanks for your help!

Book with Qantas or a travel agent.
QF do not fly to Buenos Aires: only SCL. Look on the OW site for actual routes
The only RTW ticket that can be booked on Oneworld is the *ONE* explorer

Circle Pacific fares need to include a south-east Asian port, and only the xCIR29SA fares can be used to fly through South America. You can easily drop HKG into the trip flying CX from the US and QF or CX back to Australia, and you don't need to stopover in Hong Kong if you don't want to - just transit is OK.

Assuming you find a solution to get to Beunos Aires with OneWorld that trip (including HKG) is only 26800 miles so fits within the 29000 mile limit for the xCIR29SA fare.

As to their value - I use the ACIR22 fares quite often for business travel in the US and Hong Kong and it's a heap cheaper than booking separate return flights and/or using the AONE4 fares and flying through Europe for the sake of it.

You can't book them online (infact you can't even use the OneWorld tool to plan the flights online anymore) but there's no phone booking fee if you call QF to book them.

They aren't awards, so no point pricing exists.

Also, they are decent value unless you are comparing them to an xONEx out of JNB. I just booked a DCIR26 for my folks from HKG which costs about $7500 per person from memory.

After quite a bit of mucking around (I basically had to teach QF girl the rules) I got the following -

Sydney to Buenos Aires (via Santiago)

BA to Orlando

Orlando to LA

LA to Honalulu

Honalulu to Tokyo

Tokyo to Sydney

Y fares - $5725 adults $4400 children

J fares - $13075 adults $9960 children

That's not exactly cheap  :!:

Its not bad, considering the miles flown. A straight J MEL-LAX-MEL for mid November is a bit under $10K for business sale and about $16K for full business at the moment.

I've done the simple MEL-LAX (open jaw - Air Canada) YVR-HKG-MEL lots of times, nearly always significantly cheaper than straight MEL-LAX-MEL

Worth getting a quote from LAN, for the same flights, except the SYD-SCL being on LA metal). QF's fuel surcharge YQ will be a big $ amount. LA's YQ may be less or more

Also try AA (for less fuel surcharges). They may do a codeshare
