"oneworld" award (132.4K/249.6K/318K/455K) Planning - The Definitive Thread

Is this a HUACA situation? Been through 10 agents now, and I've gotten a couple of agents that seem to understand the problem, and have waited with me on the phone for 30 mins waiting for a ticket, only to say that they cannot ticket it on their end.

RJ MMB no longer displays the e-ticket.

Have you been given the tax amount you need to pay?

Update: I finally made a breakthrough, thanks to @madrooster's comment about taxes.

I asked the next agent to re-price in AUD from AU point of sale (which is what the original OWA booking was). That said, I didn't think Qantas allowed you to price from a MY point of sale...

Anyway, once the itinerary was re-priced, no change in points/tax owed. 5 mins later, ticket came through and RJ reporting new ticket.

I have no idea why a re-price worked, and why none of the other agents tried/suggested it. This is what I get for trying to change a OWA without WP! 🤣

My current (finally ticketed!) OWA:

KUL-NRT JL Business

HND-SYD QF Business

SYD-SIN QF Economy
SIN-HEL AY Business
HEL-LHR AY Business

LHR-HEL AY Business
HEL-ICN AY Business

ICN-TPE Surface (praying I can snag a CX seat...)

TPE-KUL MH Business

The future plan is to add a final stopover in MEL in place of the TPE-KUL route and then return back MEL-KUL, for ~33-34k miles on GCM depending on transits.

This is unusual if you've added segments, which I assume you have, considering you changed origin?
Sorry, poor wording on my part.

There was no change in tax owed when I asked for the re-price in AUD / AU point of sale. The first time I made these changes I did pay extra tax.

Do you mean the amount you would've owed in MYR currency vs AUD currency? If yes, then that's OK. I thought you meant you owed 0 AUD which would suggest a stuff up.

Yep! The MYR and AUD amounts were the same.

Thanks for the clarifying questions, I appreciate how you are always on this thread saving us from QF “customer service”!

Hello
Curious, When you booked this trip, did you do online through the multi-city option or did you book via the phone? I'm having trouble using the multi-city option as it only lets me put in 6 segments & the total is above the RTW Classic reward limit.
I booked it on the Multi City booking page. A few months later I called Qantas to change the last 3 legs as I couldn't get the dates I was wanting at the time of the initial booking due to the dates not yet being available.

A family member of mine had an OWCA with a MEL-KUL-HKT leg with MH in J. They made some changes and the MH ticket timed out and the seat was lost (not a surprise). They had the MEL-KUL leg re ticketed in J but the KUL-HKT leg has been ticketed in Y as there are no J reward seats left. Is it Qantas's responsibility to ask MH to release a new J seat via the liaison desk? What's the best way to do that? Would the reward ticketing escalation email be able to help?

My suspicion is the presence of the MAD-FRA on IB since you have a transit at FRA. Send me your booking reference and date/flight that you want for HND-GMP privately and I can take a look when I have a spare moment.
Just to close the loop on here, @madrooster very graciously worked their magic and managed to figure out how to sort out my PNR that multiple multiple calls, as well as emails to the ticketing team could not resolve.

All flights now locked in for our 318k trip, including some politely recommended adjustments by @madrooster to save us from being stranded in Frankfurt if we missed our 50min connection to Tokyo.

I'm not sure what black magic was used, but it is very much appreciated! Looking forward to our trip much later in the year, first time in Korea will be fun, but mainly psyched to revisit Burgundy and drink some wines for less outlandish prices than here.

That's really good news! @madrooster are you able to share what the issue was and how it was fixed? To help future individuals who may run into the same issue.

As @billbro has already mentioned, the contact centres struggled with this scenario, for a reason. The contact centre operators don't have the access to do what was done in this scenario.

I'm still confused - what exactly was the issue (married segment?) and how was it resolved?

I can confirm it was not a married segment issue at all - I had made the assumption that the HND-GMP was supposed to be connecting within 24 hours in Tokyo but it wasn't.

For privacy reasons I'm not going to disclose the exact issue nor the resolution as it was not simple and it would give away too much of @billbro's itinerary.

Just started compiling a OWA. My basic wish is to get to Cuba and back over the Christmas period 2024. This is not an easy task...

I have so far managed to get the following seats, all in J. No idea how I'm going to get to AKL from my home base in MEL. Hoping more options pop up through the year.

AKL-HKG CX
HKG-KUL MH
KUL-BKK MH
BKK-HEL AY
HEL-LHR AY
LHR-MEX BA on Christmas Day :)

We are travelling to Mexico and Cuba in April.

Due to US restrictions reintroduced by Trump we are avoiding the US.

Our flights are BNE-TPE-YVR-MEX///MEX-HAV///HAV-MEX-YVR-NAN///NAN-BNE

There and back to YVR on QFF points, Mex sectors paid fares that were deeply discounted
