Do all one world carriers enforce the no segment upgrade rule on circle and other rtw type products??

Yes, its a fare rule. However, it does not apply to upgrades using FF miles/points. It means you cannot pay money to upgrade the fare from say economy to business class on a sector-by-sector basis. The exception is for certain premium economy upgrades which can be applied to an economy fare for a surcharge.

Gee that was quick .. do you guys have a life ..

Thanks very much ... so if there was a sector with F , I might be able to upgrade from D using points ??

Very much so - in fact I think NM is trying to do that right now :)

I have upgraded numerous D class QF flights to F and numerous AA D class flights to A using points and vouchers.

that is exactly what I did earlier this week. Upgraded D->F using QF FF points. I have also confirmed upgrades on two AA sectors (NRT-DFW and LAX-LHR) using AAdvantage eVIPs on the same trip.

Great.. I will start looking

As an aside .. and maybe worth a new post .. my dcir29sa tickets are on LAN Chile Paper and the add on taxes were very miniscule.
Something about LAN having a special deal with one world that exempts it from fuel surcharges .. might be worth knowing for some.

We fly jal > nrt _ aa >jfk >mia>uio ..then its lan all the way to the end of the world and back to civilisation...

Planned a rtw trip last year which I will do later this year. At the time I rang QF FF and asked about upgrades on QF sectors (only 3 out of 16) using points and the answer was yes.

How does one get their OneWorld fares ticketed with Lan Chile?

Well .. the way I did it was to be blissfully ignorant ..
The consolidator did the deed .. told the ta .. who told me ..

Which TA? Maybe I can look at doing this myself in future - might be better than booking through the AA RTW desk!
