Competition is heating up again nicely thanks to the ending of the QF/BA JSA and BA have re-introduced the One Way Special F upgrade when purchasing a J return to LHR.

Offer valid for bookings made up until June 15th and for travel through to Dec.
Shame I have my forward travel booked!
It would be a good opportunity to fly back in F from LHR, sampling the CCR in T5 :(
All previous promos like this have credited F SC's for the upgraded sectors.

It's a great promo. And the 777 First product is quite good. Certainly no EK bling, but smooth understated British style.

And F status credits :)

These are great deals. Taken up a couple to BKK (when they still flew there).

They do have better specials. x-mass 2011 we took up their offer for fly F for J. BNE-SYD (J) - LHR (F) - MAD (CE)......CDG-LHR (CE) - BKK (F) - SYD (F) - BNE (J) all for the bargain price of $8,000 and 960SC:D

Another big plus - they still serve bacon rolls;)

From T & C, not restricted to LHR, can also do it on SYD-SIN: " (i) is a published semi flexible return fare in Club World departing from Sydney to London or Singapore;"

How much is MEL/SYD-SIN return in J ?
Do they code-share their SIN-SYD/MEL flights ?
Which airline/aircraft I wonder ?

Hmm might be a goer.

Thanks for posting - looking at their SYD-SIN-SYD offer. Haven't flown BA for yonks - the video on their F product doesn't actually amaze? CCR would be nice, but not available SYD-SIN and at the end of the day, its on board that counts. How does BA on board F compare to QF's F, particularly sleeping space?

If you click on the link I posted above it states from $3787 SYD-SIN rtn. AFAIK they don't code share with anyone on SIN-SYD.
Don't know what's happening with the MEL-SYD code shares since the end of the JSA.

I haven't flown on new First on BA only their old product. Should be the latest 777 as per vitagen's post.
I flown J on BA a fair few times and the catering in CW is pretty dodgy IMO so that would need to be factored into the equation.

Sorry, CW is ...?

NF (New First cabin) is pretty good......IMO, 747 is better than 777. If you don't have status and take the SYD-SIN leg as the upgrade - you're in the SYD F lounge.

Really like the British way of doing things.

Did a search from the link originally posted in this thread and it seems that prices for F is only $400 more than J (per way).

I'm getting $1893 per way in J and $2293 per way in F.

Not much of a difference.

Still $400 is nothing to scoff at - but perhaps nothing to jump at either. I would have initially thought the difference in fares would be far greater.

I just purchased MEL-SYD-SIN-LHR-FRA-LHR-SIN-SYD-MEL with return leg in in F. MEL-SYD flights are QF metal as a BA codeshare. Great Value at approx $7200. Also I have heard that 1 week from departure its possible to upgrade the outbound leg to F for a small fee as well. Does anyone have any experience on this?

Nice !
The points/SC earn should be pretty good as well.
$7200 is indeed good value. On QF return MEL-LHR in J is $9k+

In fact it was 10.5K with QF for those dates from Melbourne! and I would have to fly EK from DXB to FRA (no thanks) I am very loyal and a P1 member but that fare difference and the 1 leg in First is a no brainer!!!! QF will have to lift their game or I am done. I gat access to an all year round fare with CX for approx 7.4K to LHR. Only chose BA for the First leg.

May I ask how you're able to get this fare ?
And the HKG-LHR legs are in the new J class aren't they ?

All legs in the new J class from MEL to LHR and its an offer that comes from the Amex Centurion card.
