i don't understand why the media keep falling for this....
 
Wouldn't there be a liability/duty of care/sanitary issue if they had the toilet break down? Shouldn't they at least have two?

This falls under the "any publicity is good publicity" category. A significant number of their target customer base will think ... "I am booking a 90 minute flight. I can relieve myself before boarding and can hold for 90 mins, so if I am saving 25% then I can be prepared before boarding and hold if necessary, knowing I have saved myself a few Pounds/Euros.
 
All good until the plane has to stay on the ground because of a broken toilet, wonder how much that will cost.

Just reinforces my attitude to never using them.
