AMEX rejection

Interesting - maybe we will get this too

At least with this, if I'm reading it correctly, you can proceed to take th le card without the sign up offer - At present this doesn't seem to be an option.

Wondering if anyone has recent approvals after previous declines, and if so, how long had passed between the last decline and approval?

Been a few months since I've tried for P2, but she's now been declined a few times across the last 12-15 months and I'm wondering how long to wait between apps...

Approx two months ago I was finally approved again for QF Ultimate. Can’t remember the gap unfortunately sorry, but I did enter a US Amex number on the application, not sure if that helped.

Prior to that both P2 and I had been out of the Amex AU ecosystem for about 3.5 years, with a year and a half of declines (trying every 3-6 months). I want to get P2 back on the Amex train, unfortunately she doesn’t have any overseas cards any more either.

A couple of years for MrsDaver6. Actually probably just under two years.

approved for personal Plat in March, approx 12months since my last unsuccessful app and about 2.5-3.5yrs since previously holding a card. Had 0 credit card applications in that 12 months though.

I have just been finally convinced that Amex is a total lottery.

My wife works casual and makes a bit under $30k. She applied for Amex Velocity Escape Plus, chose minimum limit ($2200), a day later they asked to send them a photo of her ID and payslips and she was approved next day.

I am a sole trader, not a churner, never had Amex before, make 3 times of what my wife makes (admittedly, with a lot of deductions but my taxable income is still more than her gross). Applied for the same card via her referral link. The system offered me to choose the limit from $2600 to $22000 which I let Amex to decide (probably a mistake from my side).
Sent them the latest NOA from ATO. Next day a guy calls, goes through my everyday expenses (which were listed in the application) and says I was unsuccessful.
What gives?
