Ha this has gone south pretty quickly. Same usual story of negative people trying to spoil everyone's fun, enjoyment and frequent flyer progression and experience.

Please see prequels of the same posters under these headings.

QC filled with fluros cos QC is for elite.

Double status offers are wrong because they reward non elite flyers who don't deserve a higher status.(because I didn't get one.)

Omg the person in front of me in Y retracted their seat. How dare they cos I'm silver, gold, wp or p1 and are superior to the underling in front

Omg, the Customer service officer greeted me in Y. I can't believe it. How embarrassing cos I always fly J.

Good evening.

I can't believe I have to share the airport, let alone the plane with other people.

Equally entry to the Qantas Club or Business Lounge, or Singapore Lounge are by invitation.
And there are plenty of photos of that
Nope. All can be purchased entry to. You cannot purchase entry to the CL.

As mentioned, at the P1 Lunch, QF requested we not post pictures. We were all more than happy to comply with their request.

You cannot (directly) buy your way into the CL. I agree the OP should not post pictures on here. The officially sanctioned QF staged photos are more than enough, and readily available. "screw the institution" is not a valid reason to post photos. Sometimes, you just need to respect the requests of a business.

You can buy entry into the CL too.
Please provide me a link where I can supply my credit card to purchase entry? Please also show me where they have removed the requirement for the chairman of the board to sign off on every individual membership and where they removed the limit on member numbers

It is not a 'for purchase' lounge like all other QF lounges, which you can purchase your way into for as little as a QP membership, or a J/F ticket.

I have heard a number of stories as to how CL access can be 'purchased'. It is not cheap and involves a sizeable donation to a tax deductible organisation.

Even though you can purchase a Qantas Club membership, it is still their club, their T&Cs (which can be changed at any time), they are inviting you in and can refuse entry.
Absolutely no difference. If a card carrying CL wants to post pictures, so be it....

The case of the AFF members post a QF function is different. They were invited in on the specific proviso that photos not be posted.

Actually, I believe that there is a membership cost associated with CL membership, so there may be element of truth to that post.
It's just that not everyone has the opportunity to purchase CL membership

Actually, we were not. We were invited in, and after the fact someone posted photos. QF then requested politely we not post photos after someone did. Entry was not based on the requirements of no photography.

Ahh now I know where my chairman disappears to when we hit the lounge, looks exciting not! Obviously I am not missing much, thanks for posting pic.

<snip>.

Not doubting you in the slightest drewbles, but can't see the relevance to the issue here. As far as I can tell, no such request has been made of the AFF members NOT at the P1 Lunch, or to the OP (however, if it is found to be an explicit T&C of CL use, my view will change).

There are dozens of pics posted in this forum in circumstances where there are 'staged' photos available (Singapore lounge pre opening , for instance; inside of various cabins, badly presented on-board meals .... ).

The naysayers here seem to be protesting on QF's behalf or opining lest QF be offended. Qantas has a rep on this forum who I'm sure is perfectly capable of expressing QF's opinion.

He/she may in due course tut tut but I'm sure he/she/the institution would be reluctant to presume to dictate what AFF members may or may not post on the AFF forum, QF's recent generosity to the forum via several of its moderators notwithstanding.

As Mrs 340 quite rightly tells me (she is a lawyer) there is no provision in the Australian Constitution for free speech. So I think it is in the spirit of Ned Kelly that pictures of a public space are posted on a public website. How lovely that we don't live in Pyongyang.

would have thought the multifunction printer should have been bigger

A lounge is just a lounge and I do not see the issue in posting photos. I took some photos when I was invited to visit last month and it is very similar to the design of the SYD F lounge with green the prominent colour.

Correct me if I'm wrong but one of your posts did draw a link from your age to not understanding Twitter.
I do understand Twitter. I am middle aged and my lack of understanding Twitter or Facebook has nothing to do with my age....

Just to clarify 'cos maybe I've missed something here. Were the pics posted taken after the AFF lunch? If not - the request to not pst has nothing to do with the discussion. It is a matter between the poster and QF. If they were at the 'do', think that's different.
