In Sydney it's on the RHS as you enter the QP (through the frosted doors marked "Private"). In Melbourne it's the same frosted doors but directly in front of you as you come up the escalator the the QP.

I think the picture should be deleted asap. We were told no pictures allowed. You can take them but not post them. Which I did. And yes, it looks very similar to the Sydney F lounge. Mr Shrek would like the colour.

Regardless of the rules re taking pics, it is a private location/sanctuary. It is not a good idea to broadcast pictures on forums such as this.

no humans were harmed in the posting of these pics!! :) no one was 'outed' in the pics! :D i personally love the green

Oh boo-hoo.

More and better pics are publicly available. And given their location, I would assume QF has endorsed their publication.

Photos: Inside the Qantas Chairman

Yes, but therein lies the difference. QF has sanctioned those photos and has ensured that the quality projects the "right" image. They are part of advertising. Happy snaps that are uploaded do not have quality control and QF has no say over what is posted - therefore they forbid the practice.

I think it has more to do with making sure there are no faces shown and privacy is respected rather than the quality of the image itself. Looks like the OP excluded any people.

Just going by what happened after the P1 launch way back, the photos had to come down. The issue is, once they allow unauthorised photos to be posted then Qantas lose some control. The other photos, as love-the-life had said, were composed. There was quality control and they were staged.

Forums such as this exist to share info.

As long as no faces are shown there should not be an issue.

As to what QF prefers, who cares. On this, and other forums, information is posted daily that various airlines etc would prefer was not posted.

AFF is all about what is best for forumites, rather than what is best for Qantas, SQ, AA etc etc.

What next...no posting of mistake fares, or ways to maximise QF staus runs etc?

Go through AFF and delete every post that some airline, or credit card company would prefer was not here, and you would have a pretty threadbare forum left. ie the ATO thread

I think you miss the point. It is Qantas Chairmans Lounge. Entry is by invitation only. It is not a public space. If there is an issue, or not an issue, then the Mods will sort it out. I don't have any issue in then doing what they need to do, if anything.

It would be a shame if the invitation was withdrawn if the photos contravene the policy. And they have every right to do that due to the nature of the lounge access.

I think not. I entirely understand what you have said. I just completely disagree with it on a philosophical basis

I have written posts on my visit to The Private Room, and am not at all fussed by what SQ may, or may not wished, to have said about it.

I guess the bottom line is that it doesn't matter what we think at all but what Qantas might think. Their policies their invitation.

Equally entry to the Qantas Club or Business Lounge, or Singapore Lounge are by invitation.
And there are plenty of photos of that

I deliberately didn't take photos of anyone and if there is an issue, I am sure that they will arrange for the photo to be removed. It's a promotion of QF and what one can look forward to if they have the opportunity. It keeps people flying qantas and trying keeps the dream alive. My QF experience this week was excellent and I will continue to fly and recommend our Australia's great airline.
