Oman Air booking issues

Well, that's good business. Obviously Aussies are prepared to pay these "taxes". But not me.

I think you’ll find most if not all the participants in this thread are in the same boat. Unfortunately, I’ve run out of points to make it to Asia with an awards flight this time (three round trips booked in the 10 months between now and the old man flight - 2xSQ, 1x QF) so sucked up the cost from Oz this time.

Both business lounges in MCT are new, shiny and wonderful. I tried both on the same day and the food options were very similar, however when push comes to shove, the Oman Air lounge just has the extra sparkle and is less crowded. Neither lounge can be considered slumming it compared to QF J lounges in Australia.
My recent experience regarding boarding on Oman Air is that they do enforce something resembling sense. 4 boarding slots from memory? If you are J then you just need to squeeze around the people waiting for their slot to be called.
