I apologise in advance if this is a stupid question. I have some old Qantas international lounge invites for the business lounge in Sydney, which I got a couple of years ago (they're the long cards with no expiry dates), and I was wondering whether they'd still be valid for use for passengers with no status. I've got some relatives travelling in economy/premium economy next year and they don't have status and it would be really nice for them to have lounge access. The last thing I'd want would be for them to be turned away.

Where did you get the invites from? Qantas?

If Qantas then I would say they would be valid if they do not have an expiry date. But you can call them and check.

If you purchased off the internet then I would be hesitant to use them.

Yes. Got them from Qantas a couple of years ago when I had checked in for a business class flight. They gave me the lounge invite but I didn't really need one because of my gold status at the time.

Are you sure they're actual entry passes (e.g. "this card entitles the bearer to entry to the QC" sort of thing) and not just invitations ("as a valued business class guest we wish to welcome you to our lounge") ? If the former it seems odd you would get them when travelling J since normally the boarding pass is enough for lounge entry.
