Old and New England with Green Gables.

Time flies and next Monday we are off on our next trip.We will fly to SYD and stay at Rydges.Then our usual BA 16 to SIN on Tuesday.
Wednesday and our first SQ suites on SQ 308 to LHR.
12 days driving around Wales with a visit to Fishguard to salute the memory of the fishwives.

Then the only worry is another BA flight courtesy of AA miles LHR-BOS.Hoping the pilots don't upset our plans.
Then a 3 day extravaganza of factory outlets around New England before a slow drive through Canada to Montreal and Quebec.Now originally this trip was going to be a cruise from Reyjavik to Quebec on the new Scenic Eclipse.It was meant to be sailing for 12 months before this cruise but it is now it's on it's maiden voyage and we didn't want to sail on a maidenn voyage.We will watch it sail into Quebec city.

Off to PEI for a week for Anne of Green Gables time for mrsdrron and lobsters,mussels and scallops for me.

On the way home it is another award flight LAX-NRT in JAL F.Looking forward to that.
Our usual stays in BKK and SYD before arriving home at the end of September.

When I was born my mother wanted to call me Patrice my brother wanted to call me Butch because he really wanted a dog and my sister was reading Anne of Green Gables. Luckily when my father registered my birth my sister won.

So we are on our way.Easy trip down to BNE on a lovely QLD morning.Arrived a little before 1200.Easy checkin.Both of us missed the secondary explosives testing.Both of us had just one glass of wine.Between reading the papers and being on line I watched the Dash 8's.

And just in case craven morehead is feeling homesick the second one is off to Emerald.

QF 533. BNE-SYD. ETD-1405. Push back-1413. Take off-1422. B738. Seats 2A,C.
ETA-1530. Land-1539 At gate-1546.
Uneventful flight.A snack and we both had the duck dumplings.The FA had put chillis on mrsdrron's so I took that and she got the chilli free version.

Bags came out quickly,walked outside the terminal just as a T bus was pulling in,checked in at Rydges quickly so in our room by 1605.We got upgradedto a larger room with 2 TVs.

We'll be hitting 6 outlet malls before we get to Freeport and probably 1 or 2 others when we get to California.

As usual we had dinner with family.Just mrsdrron's sister and our neice as the grandkids were fully occupied.First we had our free drinks at the rooftop bar-downstairsis undergoing renos at present.Really good views of the airport.

Then downstairs for dinner.The food is quite reasonable here and the 20% shareholder discount makes it reasonable cost wise.
I had the kangaroo and mrsdrron the pappardelle with osso buco ragu.Both very nice.

The family were not hungry and had the pate.

Decided not to have the included brekkie at Rydges so to save us for the Flounge.

Checked out from Rydges just before 1100.Fortunately BA opened checkin just after 1100.No queues for Immigration or security.Only hold up was recalibrating the body scanner before I went in.So into Flounge at 1115.No one seated in the 2 dining spaces.So no probs for our brunch.
A daily special for 50 years of QF flying to Bali so we both had those.Just a little spicy.

I then had the numbing pork with udon noodles-very nice.

Mrsdrron went straight to AFFs favourite dessert.

After lunch it was good to see our chariot arrive.

A little out of order as I am posting from here just because I can.

SQ now offer free wifi in F for the duration of the flight so I may be able to keep up to date,
We spent a relaxing time in the Flounge.No longer the excitement and we each only had 1 glass of wine.Heck we were going to be presented with enough choice once we boarded BA.

Great to meet up with matt_01 in the lounge who we met in Adelaide at the last AFF do.To all new members get along to these social events as you meet and get to know more of this wonderful family.Unfortunately we don't get along to many in view of my work and travel.

Now there were no announcements made for BA16 in the Flounge-I presume the were made in the House.The board was showing still Go To Gate but just before 1430 we decided we really should go even though it wasn't showing as boarding.We arrived at the gate as they were expecting the last 2 passengers-ie us.Had to board by the second door and make the walk of shame.
No problems.Still enough time to have a glass of champagne!
