QF24 (Ex HRE) Days of week: 5 Dep-1320 Arr-1920 A/C 744 Boeing 747-438 (400 series aircraft)
QF24 Route: HRE/PER/SYD

I flew this, but ISTR it being operated by a -200 the day I flew, not a 744. Had the only empty seat in Y next to me too! The takeoff roll for the return ex-in HRE was loooooing (although not a long as when they flew 707s there according to the FA!)...

The return was late into PER after a pax failed to board and they couldnt find the luggage (!), so it was too late for me to make my SYD-MEL connection when we arrived in SYD (and they wouldnt put me on a direct flight ex-PER) so I had a night in SYD courtesy QF! Should have put me on the MEL direct flight!

Those milk run across the Pacific look good. Would have been a great time to travel.

Yep those were the days:D !

Flying through the 70's, 80's and the first half of the 90's was something special indeed!

We had a system where you would get 75% Stan down after a trip and it was rounded up to a full day!
EG.
20 day trip with 15 days off at home!
10 day trip with 7.5 days off at home rounded up to 8 days off!
3 day trip with 2.25 days off at home rounded up to 3 days off!

It was not until 1988 that we had a seniority bidding system where you could punch into the computer where YOU wanted to go prior to the bidding system we would get an A4 piece of paper with your assigned flying for the next 56 day (8 week) roster!

I moved residence last year and found an old printed QF timetable book. I love stuff like that. The airport for the Sunshine Coast was listed as NSA - Noosa which is a dirt track at Noosaville the last time I looked. Now used for training flights but rarely used. MCY or Maroochy airport has since taken over and growing rapidly.

Does anyone have any old Qantas timetables that are cluttering up their closets and they would like to get rid of:?:?
If so I am after any Qantas timetables!

Thanks Rocky.
