Inspired by anat0l, I am trying to log all my flights on Flight Memory dot com. I know where I flew in 1992 - 1995 but cannot find details of some of the flights. Do any of you good people have (very!) old Qantas timetables?

Thanks, samh004. I do have the exact dates, but would like to have the flight numbers too. Unfortunately the site you referenced (and the Air Times site which I already checked) don't have full timetable views.

I have some timetables from that era; I might be able to assist.

What dates, time and routes are you looking at?

:D Thank you Serfty. Specifically these appear to be the dates and routes: 9/7/1992 - 14/7/1992: MEL CNS rtn (was with a young sdhog, so would have been the most young 'un friendly time of the day); 12/3/1994 - 20/3/1994 (+1) MEL JNB rtn (that route flew a short while only); 12/8/1995 SYD JNB; 20/8/1995 JNB PER (+1); 21/8/1995 PER MEL (would have been the connecting flight from JNB PER).
That just leaves two BA flights to find!!!

I have to admit that due to the fact that I can't track old flight numbers (or BPs), I've limited my Flight Memory to start from 2006 (as is my ba97). I've built these from BPs that I've kept or found.

Aircraft types were worse - in some cases I've had to guess (or make an educated guess).

My Flight Memory therefore lacks a lot of flights (when I was younger, I flew to Malaysia and Philippines annually); there are also some places that I have been to before that I have no flight records of, like:
  • TPE
  • HNL
  • SFO
  • MCO
  • PHX
  • LAX

Good luck building up your records! Look forward to seeing it when it's built.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but Serfty, can you divulge what a/c would have been doing a PER-SYD-HNL-SFO v.v leaving Sept and returning early November 92. If you need me to get specific dates I can try and dig them up for you.

Thanks

Likewise anat0l, the many many flights I took as a child will not be counted on my Flight Memory as I simply can’t remember how many I took and even when they were, let alone a/c types and all that.

By the way, you mentioned LAX twice ;)

9/7/1992 - 14/7/1992: MEL CNS rtn (was with a young sdhog, so would have been the most young 'un friendly time of the day);
12/3/1994 - 20/3/1994 (+1) MEL JNB rtn (that route flew a short while only);
12/8/1995 SYD JNB;
20/8/1995 JNB PER (+1);
21/8/1995 PER MEL (would have been the connecting flight from JNB PER).

Can help much - my 1994 timetable has gone AWOL.

From my 1996 timetable:
QF63 went
  • SYD-MEL-JNB and vv Tu
  • SYD-PER-JNB and vv Mo, Th & Sa
QF64 went
  • JNB-MEL-SYD- Tu
  • JNB-PER-SYD - Mo, Th & Sa

The was also JNB/HRE with QF24 in the mix.

Thanks, Serfty and anat0l. Obviously I am relying on passport stamps and memory (which is worsening by the day!) but I don't think I flew QF63/64. Will dig further.;)

Another alternative may have been QF23/24, but that flew between PER and JNB via Harare.

I have not used Flight Memory but if one were to use it do you need to have the exact details of flight numbers, aircraft type and dates? Is close enough good enough?

For the answer to that you can check out anat0l’s FlightMemory, and mine.

FlightMemory - Statistic from our user 'anat0l'
FlightMemory - Statistic from our user 'samh004'

Also, when you enter your details in, it asks for an exact date and time and the 2 airports, but you can provide just a year, and it’ll work out the hours fine. Then there are all sorts of ratings you can give, indicate which class you sat in, where you sat (aisle, middle, window), seat number etc… but none of these are needed. As for flight numbers, you can simply indicate which airline you flew, that works fine.

And you don’t need to share the map like we have done, you can turn that feature off and keep it to yourself.

I have no problem about sharing the map. I was just wondering what the map would look like although I believe it would take a considerable amount of time for to enter all the data. Perhaps something to do later once I have updated my spreadsheet.

You have to love those ads on Flight Memory. I have been today's 1,000,000th visitor for the last couple of hours. ;)

At least it’s not a Flash-based video ad that expands to cover all the text and screw up my browsing experience :p

Anyone else having as much luck as me. :rolleyes:

I flew from 1972-2006 with Qantas as an International Flight Attendant and have all my rosters and pattern books on the flights we (Qantas) flew! let me know the sector and I should be able to find something for you!

Rocky.

Hi Rocky and welcome to AFF.

I am sure that you may be able to help me out with this one. I remember flying PER-SYD-HNL-SFO as a youngen with the parents in Oct92 and November 92. I can't remember the specific dates, but what would have been the likely aircraft to service that route back in Oct 92 (there), returning in November of the same year?

*As an aside, does any have any old Ansett timetables? I am trying to find what I may have flown on PER-SYD in 99. I may have the boarding pass somewhere, but that doesn't give anything away.

Hi Rocky,
Thanks for the offer. I have pretty much sorted out all my Qantas flights, going back 23 years. I am missing details of flights MEL CNS return 9/7/1992 and 17/7/92 respectively. Would have been Ansett, I think.
Mannej, I tracked down (in theory) old Ansett/TN timetables to the State Library of NSW. Especially joined online and flew into SYD two hours early (from MEL) on a day I was to attend a meeting. What a disaster at the library. Two hours were JUST enough to eventually be told that the timetables were either not where they should be or their computer access numbers were wrong. So I am still none the wiser. Maybe if you are in SYD sometime, you might have more success!
