Read the thread about Virgin live2air for yet another reason. Perhaps too many old men on the QF Board of Directors.

If meeting at SYD, I go to Krispy Kreme just on the entrance of the airport , park for free, have a free hot doughnut and mebe a $2 cup of coffee and wait for the person Im meeting to call n say that they have their bags and then just drive the 2 minutes around to the pickup area.

Much better value than short term parking

A while back we discovered the sailing club or Kogarah Golf Club as an OK free parking alternative. Perfect when you expect to spend 2-3 hours at the international terminal.

Park your car and then walk over the Cook's River Bridge and through the car park and you are at the terminal! Only a 10-15 minute walk.

Just wait until they add the boom-gate maintenance surcharge, the line marking surcharge, and the ticket validation surcharge next month  .

That's easy; when their "hot" light is on and they have hot doughnuts, you can get a free one. Don't ask me why, but that's their policy

Nah... whenever they have hot donuts coming off the conveyor and there is a bit of a queue at the counter, they assign someone to hand out freebies. They are at their best (taste-wise) when hot off the conveyor.

I've probably passed you a few times at Krispy Kreme in SYD, Dave Noble.

That's the only time I have a doughnut; don't really like doughnuts once they have gone cold

Alas I grew up in a different era. I would not go out of my way for Krispy Kreme. I guess Dunkin Donuts spoiled me.

But then ... free parking?

I wander again

I wouldn't tend to go to Krispy Kreme normally but I do like the free parking just by Sydney Domestic terminals

Dave,
Where is the pick up area? I get the Missus to wait at Krispy Kreme too but picking me up at the Departure area..........where they have "No Pick Up" signs now and the mongrols are starting to issue traffic offence tickets for pick up!!!

Thanks,
Ric

There are immediate pick up points outside the terminal at the middle island

Just follow the instructions on the box a few seconds in the microwave....beautiful:mrgreen: .
Oh I regularly get picked up on the departures deck after calling my father when I visit Sydney, cost Krispy Kreme fee.
Oh on a few SYD-WLG flights there have been boxes of KK in the overhead which MAF allows through you just have to remember to take them with you:oops:
Oh QF do not like you eating the powdered ones in the J seats....to messy:oops:
So for once I have brought an off topic thread back on topic;)

welcome to my jetlag world, how do people do lots of flying.....
flew cx hk to rome, return and qf bne to hk return. the cx crew going over were fantastic, the return crew were another story. why they kept locking the toilet near front economy was mystery to me as the crew going over to Rome had no prob. with anyone using it. i have learned on previous experience the crew ususally makes the trip pleasurable or not.
i love-e-e qantas. i had great crew on both flights but the return crew in my section were outstanding, one fa was a natural comediene (sp?) and it was great experiencing the aussie humour.
BUT why did the qa guy at domestic bne int'l book me with the wrong name for my flight home from bne? Too jet lagged to notice my boarding pass. When I requested as close to front of economy as possible was advised that row 10 aisle was closest. I enquired if row 4 was available on on-line for future info. I was advised that the higher status receive these and that booking on-line is still edited by qa. I didn't get that thought from reading this site prior to my o/s trip.
Imagine my surprise when a gentleman also had booking for same seat and when my boarding pass was sighted by fa, it had the gentlemans name on it . boy was i really jetlagged, I usually examine everything with a fine tooth comb. The fa's were fantastic (and for a moment I thought I was going to get my very first upgrade);). Surprised to find there were empty aisle seats between row 6 and 10. No upgrade but in my stupor I was happy.
i'm not in the category of lots of users on this site re travel but give me qantas anytime.
happy to be back in oz, trish

I completly agree, the sirs, the welcome aboard on all internation flights, an of cause the priorty tags and check-in is something i value very much. although there is an occastional stuff up and i have experiance 1 or 2 bad delays overall qantas is great. without platnium ff status travel would not be nearly as easy or enjoyable
