I am not sure if they would give you a fee free card, but it is cheaper than a platinum card. I am not sure you will find a card to match your criteria.

Thanks oz_mark, guess I got to wait.

Just rang their (Phillipines?) call centre and they confirmed this offer is current...

They were extremely helpful unlike CBA, who I rang to see if they could offer me a better deal than to charge me $200 per year for my platinum MC. They wouldn't budge at all..

Can't see where CBA Platinum is any better than Citibank Gold so guess who's going elsewhere?!

I can't find the catch anywhere in Citibank's T&Cs..apart from a 60K point cap and 10K point minimum transfer.... which I can live with..

Has anyone experienced anything different after signing up for Citibank's no fee ever deal?

Hi liparj, do you have their number by any chance?

Nope. Been using this more than 2 years and never have problems .... No annual fee charged at all. But I suggest you apply ONLY the Gold card as the silver card have different redemption rates for Qantas and no Singapore Airline redemption (I think?!).

But do watch out their foreign currency exchange fees, like 3.3% ..... Higher than most other cards. So as long as you aware of this you should have no problems.

hi edison, do u know if we can still get this deal anywhere?

looks like citibank hasn't completely removed it, see if someone can work it out.[/quote]

Hi bati, have you ever tried the link out?

i just tried the link out but no go...at the end it says sorry but we are unable to process your request please call citi.

can anyone confirm that you can call up and get this deal over the phone? or is there another way or link for getting it?

I remember someone ever said that he tried several times and finally went through, you may try again later. Good luck.

We've had a Citibank Gold Card now for three years and no annual fee. We pay in full each month so no charges. Also get the 1point per dollar

The link to the website is still live...haven't tried an application though.

The link posted earlier ends up launching an application form with the exact same URL link as the one you get when you launch a application from the Citibank homepage which makes me think that perhaps it is just a standard application

Anyone with any luck? would really like to get the no annual fee gold card - once the application goes off does it still get approved with no fees?

The URL's are the same however if you look at the top left hand side where it says "You are applying for" both cards are different so the URL there doesn't matter, applying for the $0 card will put the application through for a $0 one.

Forget what the URL says :)

It says you are applying for a gold card with 6.9% for the life of the balance transfer but fails to mention anything about no fees (the other link from the home page says "2.9% p.a. for 12 months on balance transfer ")

Ill try doing an app, but from the sounds of other people's experiences, it doesnt work.

I tried applying

It took me through the whole process only to tell my there was a problem processing my application

I had tried a masters card application, failed right at the end of the application sequence, per jingles' user experience

For readers that may have missed the Fee Free for Life promo. Citibank has No annual fee for first year Gold card

Unfortuntely can't post internet link (<10 posts). I saw it on a internet banner.

No annual fee first year and free travel international insurance with mastercard

My Citi platinum is due for renewal in Sep and no way I'll pay the $250 annual fee.

Bati - as a holder of the Citibank Gold, no fee card - through the offer being discussed here, Citibank, as part of their promotion of the new chips on cards have just upgraded me to a Platinum no fee card.

(albeit - i might go back and just check the letter before i activate it, to ensure it is no fees for ever, and that they are not just marketing the chip as a cover to move people off the no fees card!)
