With the advent of 24hr online check in, has there been a change to the 3 hour ODU? Could I check in today head out to the airport and request an ODU ready for my flight tomorrow?

My thoughts are the answer is Yes.

Whenever I have gone for an ODU; I have always aready checked in and they take my BP; sometimes handing in back :( , sometimes giving me a new one :) .

Thanks serfty,

I was just wondering if you can request an ODU more than 3 hours out now?

As of last Thursday there has been no change and I would be surprised if there was, you have always been able to check in up to 24 hours in advance and many did when connecting to a domestic flight as part of an overseas inbound leg.

Fair enough; Given that you have been able to get a same day return BP from the Quick Check Kiosks for some time now I would guess not.

The wording is quite specific: On Departure Upgrades.
  • Requests can be made at domestic Qantas Club lounges up to a maximum of three hours, but no less than 20 minutes, prior to flight departure (allow a minimum of 40 minutes for domestic departures from international terminals)

You can always give it a go - from personal experience, they do not enforce the 3 hour limit.
