I love how on AFF we have incredibly sophisticated debates about the quality of the salads served up in lounges and on planes, yet there anre many threads, just like this one, relating to poltics, that usually come down to a series of one liner insults (usually directed at any leader more left than the far right). :p

Aaaah, politics ......

In all honesty she would probably prefer to go now before the effects of C19 are really felt, it's the other parties that would prefer to hold off to let the stardust fade as reality bites :(

No delays necessary

Power, after all, is intoxicating

Teddy bear lovers are offended that there’s no electoral diversity quotas for teddies

Well, she has no chance now that Pete "CV is a conspiracy" Evans has come out against her!

Her only fear would be if PVO said she was a shoo in as he said for Bill Shorten.

Ah! St Jacinda might be taking a leaf out of the Donald Trump playbook

Actually I think you'll find that it's the opposition who are pushing strongly for a delay.

Correct. The minor support parties, Greens and NZ First, are likely to be keen as well because under NZs MMP system they could well be wiped out on their current polling.

All incumbents have a natural advantage and the 600,000 entreprenurial Kiwis are in Oz so that drains the Nats voting, well that’s my hypothesis. (Probably make a good Uni research project as to why so many have made the Gold Coast home)
New Zealanders resident in Australia can still vote you know. In fact every Australian electoral officer is also a New Zealand electoral officer, and votes can be cast in person at the state electoral offices.

How do they get on for an electorate?

Jacinda will win easily - surfing on the wave of 3 years of adulation and fawning media coverage I don't think there will be any reporting of an alternative. Though the lady the Nationals have put forward certainly seems very accomplished and would no doubt do a good job if she were to prevail.

Whoever can achieve the resumption of travel - I will be cheering for them!
