NZ/CX form alliance/code-share+Air NZ drops HKG-LHR

I recall others predicting NZ would drop one if their LHR routes. On one hand it makes sense to replace with codeshare/partnership, and their is not much choice on the HKG-LHR route than CX, though VS is an option. However it gets messy with the OW/*A mix.

If the stated AKL-LAX/SFO capacity increase eventuates, this means even more competition on the Pacific route, and maybe just maybe more award seats for USDM bookings :)

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

So with SQ ceasing SIN-EWR and NZ ceasing HKG-LHR does this once again mean there are no true round-the-world airlines (as defined by connecting flights, rather than a single aircraft service)?

(Giving SQ the liberty of allowing JFK and EWR to be considered the same place.)

I flew HKG-LHR return on Air New Zealand a few years ago. The costs were always super cheap - Business flights typically very low.

Super friendly staff.
