Well after passengers paying more for a flight between Sydney and Port Macquarie than they would for a flight to Perth, Qantas has recently
a) Dropped their fares dramatically on routes now with DJ's E-170's.
b) Now offering triple points on 'selected routes'

The 'selected routes' are between Sydney and Port Macquarie and Sydney Albury....where 3000 points can be earned instead of the usual 1000 for a one way flight.

Amazing what a little competition does.
Now I cant wait for V-Australia to stir things up internationally.

And as long as the competition gets supported it will stay around. If everyone falls for the sweetener then it will go away.

Yes just ask the people of Mt.Isa.As soon as DJ went away prices headed for the skies.

The 12,000 QFF points will come in very handy as I booked SYD-ABX and SYD-PQQ returns in April during the recent QF Easter sale.

Yep, QF are getting a bit aggressive with VB's new routes. I guess they see that this is a real threat with VB adding both regional and international connections of their own.

I flew down to Canberra on the DJLink and back on QFLink, it is good to have more options on that route, I did just read in another thread that DJ have cut their services already though which is strange, probably found better use for the planes than Canberra ;)
