Lol, I’m the opposite, I’m not letting our state premiers ruin another holiday - we have people flying in from every state apart from WA (obviously as they are imprisoned ) and the territories for our family Christmas! Some bonus QBR points for me

Due to the good discounts I get at BWS, they're my choice at the moment, but same as...

And being in WA, and doing my run mid-afternoon, I went past a bloke with his son who were just getting into their car with masks on, and I thought well there's a bloke who is a bit over-cautious, only to find out a few minutes later we were in another CV19 mask wearing situation.

I've largely moved my travels away from this time of year, and have my hholiday at more wallet friendly times!

How many christmases in a row now where you were not flying somewhere or stuck in a company provided hotel room?

I can see 21 out of 34 where I was flying, or in the middle of a trip. Roughly another 5 would have had standby on the day. So, about 26 out of 34.

The worst one of all was a day in Perth. It was basically shut. Bemused tourists wandering around, wondering why they were there. And then to cap it off, we were supposed to fly back to Melbourne/Sydney that night on the red eye. Got to flight planning, and they'd substituted a 737. I'm not sure at what point they realised that a 767 crew couldn't fly the 737, but that didn't work well either.

Some places were pretty good. London. Anywhere in Asia. Vancouver was good. LA bad. Fiji/Honolulu good.

I've been making every lunch and bbq'ing every dinner since we got here so I feel like I've stayed at home. What I would do for a pizza delivery today!

MrsK and I have managed to escape Canberra, and are kicking back on the balcony at my parent's place in Hervey Bay - just the four of us. In my mind that's a plus as we got away from the big family 'do' in Canberra, which is always exhausting, with the different family members, exe's etc.
It's been a quiet few years for me travel wise.
Looking back, I've done four Christmas Eve/Day flights and two New Years Eve/Day flights over the years, and a stack of Christmases where I've been working, which have all been memorable for one reason or another.
