Not available for seat selection!

Hi All, I'm a WP and my next itinerary is:
BNE to SYD (8/4/13)
SYD to BKK (QF23 8/4/13)
BKK to Hanoi (viet)
Hanoi to Danang (Viet)
Danang to HCM (Viet)
HCM to Jakarta (Viet)
Jakarta to SIN (Garuda)
SIN to BNE (QF 52 17/3/13)


Now here is the part which is doing my head in - Right now (well within T-80) the plane layouts are still not available online for seat selection! I rang Qantas yesterday about it - (and spoke very breifly with someone who did not care and wouldnt be bothered to help).

Anyone care to hazard a reason why this may be?

I can select seats on the QF domestic flight tomorrow, but QF23 and the return QF52 is not showing at all, it says its not available. Ive never seen this before and I hate flying this blind...

By the way Its all in economy so any chance for a decent seat is welcomed!

Seat selection is not available once a certain % has been selected, seeing as its school holidays Thats what is happening.

Go to rj.com and access your booking there (with the booking reference).

Sometimes when seat selection isn't available on the QF site you can still do it through RJ.

wow thats amazing! I can see it on rj.com... only thing is it wont let me select.

I really dont know what the story is though - the % booking thing is new to me - but when i look through RJ the flight is wide open..

So choose a seat number and ring Qantas and ask to be allocated that seat. Have a couple of back ups just in case.

I would call back until I got someone who actually cared and wanted to help.

By the way I have had bookings in the past where I could not pre-select seats online (even at T-80 and OLCI) and I had to call to get seats manually allocated.

Aaaaaahhh!!!!!

I am so pissed off. Its an Airbus, so 2-4-2 in Y class. I found a row of 2 close to the front (45 was the closest I could get at this point) and rang to get the window (again no explanation from Qantas on the non ability to select).

I just checked back and the seat next to me is now full also. Despite there being many spare seats on the plane, there also now appears to be No seats anywhere in Y class with a spare one next to it, theyre all already taken.

My profile says forward window and they initially allocated me 49D.
