JETSTAR has apologised to a Queensland passenger after the words "I am gay" were written on his luggage with airline baggage sticker tags.

An airline spokeswoman said a thorough investigation would be conducted after a picture of the luggage was posted on Twitter yesterday after a flight from Perth to Brisbane.

I'd love to know what was going through the mind of the JQ employee. On what level did they feel that it was a good thing to be doing that would not result in the pax getting upset and them been found out and reprimanded for

1. Mucking around on the job
2. Intentionally insulting a customer
3. Misuse of company property

There is the possibility it was meant to be a joke on someone they knew and got the wrong bag with the same surname!

While it is tempting to think there is more to this story than meets the eye, the reaction of the guy who was the "victim" is very commendable and illustrates why Jetstar needs to take a firm position in dealing with it.
