Maybe someone can help me here. On Nov 1st my points were reset back to zero. I had 1170 meaning that I was just 30 short of reaining WP.

But heres the killer.... back in August I did a BKK-KUL return trip on MH. I checked the QF sight and all indiations are that I should have received 15 pts each way for a total of 30. After 8 weeks the points weren't showing so I put in a claim and it's showing on my statement now as zero points and zero SC's. I was counting on this to get me over the line to retain WP. Otherwise I would have done a quick status run when I was back in Aus last week!!

Before I give qantas a call and try to get an understanding on this, can anyone explain why these may have not been credited? Like I say the QF site says that SC's are credited on OW flights. And the cost here to me is quite significant.

What was the fare basis of the MH flights?

Econ on an MH basic fare. Researched on the web, but booked via their mobile site. My FF numbers appear on my booking confirmation. I had no rpoblem getting in the FLounge in BKK and KUL. So I'm completely puzzled.

But what was the fare basis, usually a code in the fare rules, a quick check of a BKK KUL basic fare in a few weeks shows QBCOWFTH, which is Q class which does not earn points or status credits with QF, quite a few airlines have classes that don't earn so its something you need to watch out for. You still get lounge access etc.

Only economy fares booked in Y, B, H, K, M, L and V are eligible (Frequent Flyer - Earning Points - Fly - Airline Partners).

You often have to scan through the ticketing information from third party websites to find out the fare code. I once got caught on Cathay economy flights booked through Zuji which ended up being in a fare code ineligible for QFF earn.

I wish more airlines would be transparent at the point of sale which fare class a ticket books into. Especially with QF and her so called Oneworld allies and their mind boggling eligible fare class tables.

Totally agree, I am mindful of this kind of thing when booking OW flights but trying to find the correct information is not easy, even when I look on the QF website. I would like to know when I book it, clearly, whether or not SCs will be earned.

Many airlines could do with fare class transparency. Some of them you can't even find out with tricks.

Star Alliance used to send me around the bend on fare classes on more complex bookings.

With any alliance (global or bilateral agreement), knowing the fare earn tables are a staple.

Got me frantically trying to confirm my Finair flight to Europe, but I can't find the class. It's a business class and I am guessing business saver which I think would be "I" class. Was pretty sure all Business class tickets scored SC?

all I can find on QF is this. Frequent Flyer - Earning Points - Fly - Airline Partners which shows points eligibility on all the business fare class's avaiable.

You will have no problem. If you get any points you get the SC's. I have never had this problem with Finnair in business. I caught out in Y on AA a few years ago though.

Expedia is good at showing you the fare class.

I have only travelled Finnair once (business). Booking showed on QF website but I had a lot of trouble getting the points and SCs credited. Hang on to your boarding passes!!!

That is sad.

I have had issues with SCs and points posting for CX and MH flights for many years. I never wait that long unless I am lazy. I had some MH flights end of September worth 100 SCs and I will send fax this week and if they do not post early next week then I will call Qantas to get it sorted.

Good luck.

Had Z class flights on MH from LHR to SYD, which didn't post in my QFF account after a little over a week. Submitted online claim for the missing points and SCs and they were in my account 2 working days later.

No comp to retain WP at 1170SC is reasonably harsh. Did the OP receive a comp to WP previously?

Not necessarily, OP could have just made it last year or been comped then, we know QFF look at your past three years average, which IMHO is very much a fair system for dealing with life's little bumps (or baby's).

*scurries off to check fare class for MH Y fare for SIN-KUL in Dec*

Terrible result for the OP.....best of luck trying to get QF to budge.
