I've seen another thread on this, but it didn't come to a conclusive ending. I've just returned from a trip to Europe, two different booking itineraries done through the Qantas website, and very disappointed to find that the two EK sectors that were EK, not QF codeshare, did not gain any status credits.
Others probably knew this already - but I'm annoyed and kicking myself for not finding a proper OneWorld partner to fly with Dubai-Dusseldorf, and Barcelona-Dubai. Even AirBerlin gave me SC on Dusseldorf - Berlin. But not Emirates! Be warned. Wantas haven't done a very good deal on this aspect of their relationship.
And to make it worse, Emirates haven't credited any Tier Miles either - probably because they reckon they have given the flight miles to my QFF account.
If anyone has been in a similar situation and managed to recover the SC then I'd love to know about how to do it.

This was made fairly clear in all of the materials around the Qantas-Emirates deal.

You should certainly be able to get the EK tier credits

Put simply, you'll never get the QF credits for those particular EK flights. Air Berlin are a full *O partner and therefore have a different arrangement to Emirates; the latter never pretended to be part of Oneworld. Obviously, a QF codeshare booking would have been sufficient (if available). It's always painful when it happens, but several others have experienced the same thing so I guess it's a small consolation that you're not the only one.

It's one of the reasons many websites remind people to "book on a QF flight number" lest they miss out on QF rewards through EK-operated flights. If there isn't a QF flight number, stick with BA, CX or MH.

That being said, EK tier credits shouldn't be a problem.

Precisely. They were quite clear and unequivocal from the very beginning. If booked on an EK flight number, there is reduced QF points earn and absolutely no SC earn. If booked on a QF number (i.e. codeshare), you get full QF rates for both points and credits.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Just a strange data point of a bewildering nature. Almost exactly 12 months ago I took four Emirates flights that were ticketed as a group booking. I wasn't sure which fare bucket these tickets were in and whether I would earn any points but of course placed my QF SG number in the booking to get lounge access etc.

No points ever credited so I figured that was as it was supposed to be and moved on quite happily. This morning I log into my Qantas account to find all four flights present and posting points with the correct dates!!!?? Very weird and surely the most delayed posting without any sort of prompting ever.

I also had some flights post a week ago (points not status credits) from two EK sectors in December 2013.
