Wanted to see if anyone can confirm what appears to be another post covid "enhancement". Prior to covid, when staying at a property without an executive lounge usually I (as a diamond guest) would be provided drink cards (sometimes also food cards) that could be used at the bar.

Example properties are Double Tree Flinders Street Melbourne and West Hotel Curio Collection Sydney.

I have stayed at both these properties recently and was not provided the welcome drink card and when enquiring both properties said they no longer offer it.

Is this another benefit that seems to have disappeared? Has anyone still received this at a property post covid?

I don’t think it is mentioned as a benefit, more just something certain hotels choose to do. I’ve had some of these at some Hilton hotels in Japan this month, but not all.

In the US you normally only get these if there is/was a lounge, but it's temporarily closed.

If it never had a lounge, no free drinks. A bit of a moot point with the F&B credits, as you can use them for drinks.
