No More International Lounge Access on Jetstar Flights (except QF codeshare/JQ business max)

Yes you will as a QC member.
See list of partner lounges in Asia accessible with QC membership prior to the July change. DPS partner lounge is on the list.
Not saying you're wrong, but I'm admittedly looking and not seeing where it says QC is eligible for the Denpasar Partner Lounge? I can see DPS in the linked list, but nothing that seems to explicitly indicate QC is eligible for access. I'm obviously missing something. 🤷‍♂️

You definitely cannot access the DPS partner lounge flying JQ - must be QF. There's the infamous sign out front that says "Jetstar Business Max Only - no Qantas Member"

If I'm wrong, of course you can say it.
I was relying on this but if there is a sign outside the lounge excluding Jetstar even for QC members, there will be no hope of arguing otherwise. Less angst just finding a nice spot sonewhere to relax before the flight.

Qantas Club membership (1 or 2-year)

When you arrive at a lounge, show your Qantas Frequent Flyer card along with your ticket or boarding pass.

Each time your next onward flight that day is on a Qantas or Jetstar flight number you'll have access to:

  • Qantas Club and Qantas Regional lounges when travelling within Australia.*
  • Qantas International Business Lounges when travelling internationally.
  • Emirates Business Lounge in Dubai when travelling on Qantas flight number.
  • American Airlines® Admirals Club lounges. Visit American Airlines for lounge locations.
  • Alaska Airlines lounges in Los Angeles, Seattle, Anchorage and Portland when connecting to or from a Qantas flight and an Alaska Airlines flight.
  • Partner lounges in most international ports where there is no Qantas owned and operated lounge.

I see many people see this as taking away something. But perhaps the perspective is that Qantas were always offering something beyond what other airlines gave to their LCC subsidiaries? This change now makes QF more aligned to how it's done elsewhere?

Getting more like the SQ/TR arrangements.

Actually, SQ/TR arrangements now will be better than those offered for JQ international.

Silver/Gold/PPS get 25% bonus miles (albeit usually a very small amount to begin with due to 1 mile per $spent), extra 5kg of luggage (if you buy 20kg to begin with), free standard seat selection (with reduced price for better seating), 1 free flight change and priority check in and boarding.

SQ's answer to P1 , Solitaire, doesn't quite the same unfettered lounge access, but does get access to SQ lounges (including F lounges) if they are open - so the benefit applies at SIN, HKG, MNL, ICN and BKK. At SYD for 1 of the TR flights, but not at MEL or PER

Irrespective of what other LCC did, QF had it, now they don't - so that's taking something away. LH group seems to me most generous for passengers of its LCC (Eurowings) and Leisure (Discover, Edelweiss) subsidiaries.

It may have more to do with competition closer to home, where one particular carrier who flies to DPS frequently does not incur the lounge expense:
For guests travelling on an international Virgin Australia, we do not have lounges at any of our international departure ports*. We also do not have agreements with any third party operators.

That may well be the case, but it's an erosion of benefits none-the-less. I mean fine... if they wanted to block access to complimentary pass holders, then that's one thing. But to block access to those who pay good money for QC or those who already pay QF enough to money for flights sufficient to earn Status affording access to lounges, then it's just stingy.

Come to think of it, this is simply calling out QFF members and complimentary pass holders. Does all of this apply to other OW Sapphire/Emerald members flying on JQ as well?

All good - if it had been blatantly obvious then I would have called it as I saw it. But I've never been to DPS myself to know first-hand and thought I was missing something on the website re: eligibility.
I've been once and thought it was too dirty outside the resort to ever want to return. I don't fly Jetstar so not experienced in that area either.

As a LTG who does fly JQi out of MEL (to BKK) this is very disappointing. Might be time to fly strictly on price.

Start by checking the Max Bundle price v QF codeshare (do they even sell that..?
Well, you'll soon have AY as a choice as well.
This could help - PE!

Pity BA is going start KUL (in your situation).

$420 for lounge access? No Qantas I am not that stupid.
Im Smart Chevy Chase GIF

Wonder if they're preparing to sell off JQ and decouple it even further?

I use my points on JQ classic rewards because QF never have any available ! They better not remove this option next.
