Do city flights run on weekends? I thought they were only designated to weekday flights.

But, the first mentions the weekdays an that the booze is complimentary. The second reference that says it is available without mentioning weekdays doesn't mention that the drinks are complimentary.

It's always been offered on public holidays in my experience. As long as the public holiday was a weekday. The Mon-Fri did not seem to exclude them. Another reason why this was a rather confusing offering. City Flyer routes were added (but no-one seemed to know or notice), Perth service was adjusted...

And in my experience it wasn't. I had to provide feedback to Qantas about the matter.
