No F to Ams.

They rerouted me to LHR free of charge. I had booked a separate connection AMS-OSL which couldn't be done under the SQ reward booking.

When I pointed out that the OSL flight would be useless they went off for a few hours and came back and
issued me a one-way award LHR-OSL on partner airline SAS (SK). According to the award chart one-ways aren't supposed to be available on SK, but it seems they did a manual override.

I had to pay for the LHR - OSL for 27,500 points. I was quite worn down by all the phone calls and caved in at the end on the points. All in all an expensive operation.

Did you have to pay more points for the LHR routing?

I did manage to find award segments (all F) for SYD-SIN-ZRH, and then business class ZRH-AMS, but it's the day before my original booking, and I'd need to take another day of leave, as well as another day away from the family to book it, so I'm taking my chances on the A350 (or the existing 777). Should still be awesome, and I'm okay with the extra 20k KF points (over J) to sample the suites and the SIN F lounge. If they downgrade the A380 out of SYD I'll try to change to an all J booking. Maybe the toilet manufacturers won't finish the A350 in time, in which case it'll be "F"ing okay by me.

When I sought to change my flights to stay in F, I had envisaged some sort of two abreast J flight. Had I realised that it was the A350, I probably would've just stayed with it. But at least now I have the security of a connection on the one ticket.

I had to change my dates due to work commitments. So I'm now doing SYD-SIN-ZRH (777 and A380) in October. 12k more miles, and a 30 dollar change fee. I would have been okay with the mixed F and J booking, but as I said my work roster changed.

Finally managed to switch to BAR in F but 2 weeks later. Did not charge any penalty for the changes, but this was after a long sorry saga and many phone calls and emails. They had weight-listed me in F for 6 destinations on the original date. One to ZUR came up and I called to confirm it, they processed it and then proceeded to cancel the other weigh lists and the original AMS booking (now in J). I thanked them and decided to check online that all was well before she hung up. Then discovered that all my flights were cancelled!! After some lively discussion she claimed that the system "had auto cancelled my new confirmed ZUR flight" and offered to put me back on the waitlist for ZUR, but could not reinstate my original AMS booking. So had no outward flight at all!!! After another week and plenty emails/calls I got the BAR F at the later date. They changed my return date for no fee, but refused to consider any compensation. I am hoping not to phone Sing again for a long while:)

Not looking good for me - will prob keep F to SIN, J on the A350 and lose the points as we have organised other connecting flights, hotel and tours so not too much flexibility.
How hard can you squeeze for compensation?
Thanks for your update.

You can try but I don't like your chances. They wouldn't come to the party for me.

It's pretty coughpy. Definitely no F, but those new J seats look brilliant. So at least you'll get to try them!

Still, you'd think as a courtesy they offer at least some miles back, despite it normally requiring re-pricing at a similar rate anyway.
