I had an ‘07 389 at a restaurant tonight, really drinking well.
07 was a tricky vintage, glad to hear it aged well.

Penfolds St Henri would be my go to….Looking for a nice bottle of red for my son. He is not a Merlot fan. Maybe Shiraz or Cab Sauv.
Around $100, any suggestions. I would have to buy it from Dans or the other local contenders. Too late to order now. His partner wants to buy it for Christmas.
Na. Penfolds 389 better choice IMHO if he wants to drink it in the next 5 years.Penfolds St Henri would be my go to….
Dans have a few vintages from $100 up
I find 389 hit and miss, but the st Henri never fails to deliver…Na. Penfolds 389 better choice IMHO if he wants to drink it in the next 5 years.

Excellent Côte de Beaune and PERfect that you've moved on from that Jura rubbish in time for Xmas!

It’s a really good wine. I’m sure he will like it.Thanks for the great recommendations.
I ended up buying a Balnaves Tally reserve Cabernet Sauvignon from mt local Dans.
$85 on special.
I remembered that my son’s previous boss really rated the Balnaves Tally.
I’m sure he will like it, maybe he might even share it with me
