Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

Just a quiet night for 5 of us at The Olive Tree last night (designated driver only drank Coke):

Now for those who have never been top OT and wonder why I keep banging on about it this is the $56 500gm Porterhouse - and all sides included in that price too 👍

How was the 389? I recently had a ‘97 and it was probably past its prime

Have one more week in the US and have nothing to report to tell you that I have found a red that is remarkable.
Will be in Melbourne for the November gathering so I might try the Olive Tree and the taxis that CE is suggesting.

You’re steak is a little undercooked for my liking but YMMV! Wine seems ok from the colour!

It had stopped mooing ;) I went with a coffee rub and sadly, slightly overcooked it on the bbq. Only by a couple of degrees. Was still delicious and that marbling really helped.

Wine was in great condition. Great balance and not nearly as big and ballsy as one might have expected.

To round out the day. I've never had my socks blown off by the Moet grand vintage. Again, not blowing my socks off but this is a seriously good wine and very happy at around the $80 purchased in 2021. Clearly buying from great vintages helps. Drinking really well now and expect further improvement in the next few years. Drink now to 2032+.
