Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

I enjoy the Cliff Edge Shiraz. Is there are regular source for good prices on it? Does the Rathbone Group have a cellardoor.co/cellarone equivalent albeit on a much smaller scale? Dan's has a member special @ $25

at $25 maybe not, usual retailers are mycellars and nicks ,a bit over $25.

From where is it?


Manjimup. Not sure of the producer. A friend of mine lives between Manji and Perth for their business. She was selling these of behalf of a farmer friend of hers. I picked up this 66 gram beauty for an even $50.

And I concur with that article on the wine matching. The Jura is a bit left field but I think the nuttiness and salinity should work well, probably best with the soup with truffle course.

Not a bad price. We “normally“ get ours from Canberra. (LOL, of course:cool: ).

Had to speak to 5 people then taken out the back to be shown a plastic box full. Like a clandestine drug deal. $2 a gram. Drugs probably would have been cheaper. Despite triple layers, could still smell them in carryons in overhead bins.

Cooked truffled scrambled eggs (eggs left in fridge for 4 days in sealed container with truffle),shaved truffles over fresh fettuccine, then slivers of truffle under skin of chicken then roasted.

2010 is a birth year, and I used to be a beer fanatic as well as a wine connoisseur - my related posts from long ago are in forums elsewhere - with a few vintage beers still being kept from that time, including a 1995 which I'll probably end up having when my First Growths of the same year are eventually opened


Got my hands on a nice fresh truffle. These two should hopefully match quite nicely tonight

That Montbourgeau has been in my cellar for a couple of years, I bought the same Grande Annee today (perhaps not since the 1990s), now just have to find a fresh truffle - fortunately foraging for food can be included in obtaining take away food as a permitted reason to leave home :)

I’ve finished all my 2010’sssss. I saw it on auction before ,$35/bottle as starting bid.

It was your post that got me to order the Montbourgeau, so thank you. It was a pretty good wine, but acid not quite as high as I expected. I have one more bottle which I'll aim to knock off in the next couple of years. Also, showed best when at about 15-17 degrees C. Grande Annee was all class. Again, showed its best warmed up a little so about 12C.
