Gifted a bottle of GB Meshack 2009, never experienced this drop, any thoughts drink now or lay down for how long?

Drinking windows suggested as follows:
JH: 2030 to 2039
JO: 2021 to 2029
CM: 2018 to 2028+
RP: 2014 to 2024
HH: 2016 to 2029

If you have good cellaring conditions I'd wait for the 10yr mark.
 
Thanks's baiden & Cruiser Elite will cellar until thirsty (and that might be earlier than planned ), but based on the 2005 vintage drinking well after 12yrs, will pop the cork of my 2009 vintage in 2021.

Based on my experience with this great wine of various vintages, I'd say JO has it right. I've opened a few at the 10 year mark, and found it too soon. I'd suggest you open it 2022 - 2025. I'm sure you'll love it when you do open it. They are great wines.

Wozza, had decided to keep until 2021, you have me thinking minimum 2022. Always difficult to wait another year but worth it for a great wine.

The best I've experienced was an 2002 in 2016. It was magical. I think 12 years might be a bit soon. But it will depend on how you cellar it and how it's been cellared to date. If you have a special occasion in 2021, then go for it. You'll still get all the amazing tastes and textures. But it might feel like it could go longer and slightly better. No harm in trying it then.

You could always track the online auctions for some older vintages. They are regularly on them, and sometimes for a decent price. Langtons had a vertical on yesterday that would have been good to tuck away. Cheers, Wozza
 
Some of the casualties from yesterday's Australia Day celebrations. The bubbles and chardys (Petaluma And Leeuwin) already binned. Oh, and an excellent 06 Rocky Sem:oops:

Yalumba The Octavius 1997:
Spectacular! Replaces the Torbreck Run Rig '04 as the best Shiraz I've had in the past 12 months. Made from some of Barossa's oldest vineyards, Yalumba's flagship shiraz really delivers in this bottle. The balance of fruit and spice is immaculate, with great dark fruits, some cherry, but not overripe, smoky and earthy notes coupled with a long, long savoury spice finish. Tannins are supple, and the wine happily lasted over two days. It's really in sweet spot right now. My first 95 point score on CT!
