Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

Same vintage, similar price and even similar scores but different regions and completely different styles. I was expecting to be more impressed by Penfolds however it’s probably too young and Rochford was drinking better.

How was the Arras? I'm opening one for a dinner next week.
Arras drinking well, we probably didn't have the best stems for it - I was using a Spiegelau Burg and @boomy had regular stems from the restaurant.

I think Arras shows better in coupes, it was still very fresh and vibrant (makes sense given LD), but also has complexity from age and lees work. It probably isn't as rich/bold as the '05, but could also be the stems - thought it was racier comparatively, though in general it's a style that seems to richer and has lots of autolytic notes of bakes apples, etc.

I don't recall ever having a Semillon that isn't white but nevertheless this Hunter River White Semillon is a cracker.
Yes it's young but that's fine by me.
Crisp and zesty with nice citrus on the palate. I just wish I had some freshly harvested Sydney Rock Oysters from Pambula to accompany the wine.
I suspect that @penegal would probably find the wine "it's alright"
