Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

Sterling innings JohnM. Was just wondering how you were batting! I love the decadence of a long lunch. I think the anticipation and knowing people are at work heightens the experience. Have a nightcap for me!

Drron, I was eyeing up the 97 Petaluma Cabernet on cellar one - do you think this would still be drinking well?

I wanted to make sure before I answered. No 1997 in my cellar but I did have the 1994 last week and tonight sampled the 1998.Still another 3 to go.I do have the 99,2000 and 2001.This suggests I have already consumed all my 1997-from memory the last was ~ March. So it basically would be for immediate drinking.

The 1998 though should last another 1-2 years.nice deep red colour still some tannins and a pleasant drink. The notes on bottling suggested the 98 was probably going to be one of the best vintages-

Thanks drron (and AC). Think I'll take a punt on 3 of these, have always enjoyed aged Cabernet although I have been a bit spoiled with the ones I've tried!

Saturday night dinner with a great wine from the excellent cellar at the Terrace Restaurant at the Country Club Resort in Launceston View attachment 103583

Is that price on the bottle, $213, what you paid for it in a restaurant? If so, amazing value!

Edit: Just founds the wine list online. That price is correct. Same brilliant value there on the international wines!

This morning tried a new (for me) tipple whilst lazing in the Santiago LATAM lounge. I usually stick to my eternal favorite malbec, but this caught my eye.

Q Clay 2012 blend of 75% Shiraz 25% Cabernet Sauvignon. From Valle de Colchagua in Chile.

Paired with some cheese because this lousy lounge has neither a barbeque nor steak. Damn third world :/

I am not a wine expert so will not attempt to describe it, but it is truly quite nice. Just wish I had that steak to go with it and do it justice :)

Yes I have seen RWT on SIN-NRT-LAX.
Ok tks - 2yrs since I was on SIN-LAX but we are flying it Sep 20 - as I said I have never seen it on SIN-Euro flts but I have SIN-ZRH Aug 28 and back out of FRA Sep 4 so will wait and see.

As good as the Bordeaux wines are that SQ offer I still prefer a bit more body.
