Newly gold, will I get luggage tags..

Hi All,

I’ve recently qualifyed for Gold status and wondering if I’ll get luggage tags set out given the current COVID environment and QF not issuing replacement FF cards..

I did search, but couldn’t find anything specific..

Congrats on Gold. I would assume so, but not in a position to confirm.

However, I recommend not using them. I’ve found that my bags on the odd chance that I check them are almost certainly going to come out last if I use the bag tag compared to a paper tag, even as a P1 flying J. Very frustrating. With the paper tag I have never been further back than the first 25% or so.

You might have a better experience so there is no harm in taking them out for a spin if you are okay with a potential wait

Really that is interesting, I've never found a difference bag tag v paper, my bags are always in the first 10-20% (as a Plat now)....

Ours has been hit & miss with Mrs Franky the WP, but one thing that worked well was flying home from Taipei in 2019 with a framed print which we checked in at the Special Handling gate. Not only did the print come thru first, it was closely followed by our bags in second and third place!
