Newcastle Airport announces NTL to PER direct

Anyone have any ideas on how Qantaslink's Perth to newcastle flights are doing? I always thought it would be much better suited for JQ or VA rather than Qantas

Was quite busy the one time I flew it.
The 319 is basically a Jetstar hard product but it makes sense to me, at least until they have 220s based in Perth to fly the route.
I doubt the resources industry pax would put people on JQ and if they have a qf group contract people would rather go via adl than direct on VA

It is quite a popular route with my company's Newcastle and Perth offices - most of the guys I spoke to about it didn't seem concerned about comfort - they were just happy to have a direct flight as time saving is significant. A QF Club or regional lounge in NTL must be on the cards surely ?
