unsure if this is new or old web site. cheers

From the team that brought you businesstraveller.com comes a new website to help flyers pick their perfect seat.

Airline by airline, class by class, aircraft by aircraft, you can now compare width and legroom for 40 airlines, with more coming soon, at seatplans.com.
With seatplans for over 300 aircraft, and more added every week, learn which seats are recommended and which to avoid.

To choose the best seat on your next flight simply log on to seatplans.com, choose the airline you're travelling with, select the class and use the detailed plan to make your choice. You can also see photographs of the airline interiors, read user reviews and post your own.
And in the Top Rated pages, the combined ratings given by our frequent travellers are compiled to give the best of the best – from short-haul economy seats to long-haul first class flat-bed.

Looks OK.... Had a peek at the NZ seat plans etc as I am more familir with those....... Zero reviews/comments as yet..

May well end up being a decent resource based on that factor... but doesn't seem to provide the nitty gritty details.. pitch/width etc

As I said.. I took a QUICK peek... there may be more to it than I saw...

trooper, i only looked at qf but it was all there.

Have had a quick look and it relies on you having a lot of knowledge about what configuration you're actually flying. For example with the 747-400 it offers configuration 1, 2 etc rather than 2 class, 3 class, 4 class etc.

As others have noted no comments yet.

Wonder what market it is trying to fill given the thoroughness of seatguru.com and seatexpert.com?

Thanks for the comments.

The intention of the site is to give information on a wide spread of airlines, the seats they have on board, the aircraft they fly, and, in time, the seat plans for those aircraft.

We want the site to be used by both business travellers and leisure travellers, and I imagine in the short term most people will restrict themselves to reading details of the products on board, so, for instance, they might compare the premium economy products offered by BA, Virgin and ANZ between London and Hong Kong, and read reviews of flyers who've tried these products.

seatguru and the others are quite thorough, but are also very US-centric, and we aren't, having offices in Hong Kong, Germany, the UK and publications in many parts of the world (including the US). We also don't have the same technology as those other sites (for better or worse), so you won't see the pop up boxes telling you that a seat is next to the toilets. We think the seat plan makes that a farily self-evident observation.

Several users have already pointed out some mistakes with our ANZ plans, and we have corrected these, so if you have any other comments, please forward them on. We will be adding a lot of airlines in the months up to Christmas and I hope there will be well over 100 by December.

thanks again

Yes, no problem at all - I've created both AirAsia and AirAsiaX pages. It takes us a little while to get the seat plans drawn up so they will be coming, and we'll have to add detail to the airline home pages and class pages but you can post reviews or comments now and we'll work on it in the next couple of days
