There must have been a crossing of wires, that IS the metric that is available to us. From that metric, we can then create a trophy and award points. What we can't do is publicly display that information – I don't believe.

Anyone can go back and react to something in the past. I know of a member who has been active since before you registered who has more reactions than posts, in the thousands! So I don't think a lack of reactions these days holds much weight, they have been embraced quickly and completely – side note that reactions also encompassed the old likes system.

I'm aware of that, including likes, as I've had a post or two liked from my first 2 years however the probability of many posts being reacted to is very low. Just saying for those of us old hats, it would be somewhat of a disadvantage to do something like that.

Just to note, I don't actually care for the system but am merely pointing out faults for those who might 🤔

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I suppose a rolling score from the last couple of years could alleviate that issue. This is now all in theory as I'd imagine it would involve some mucking around and deviation from the standard release of the software. Fully understand why you don't want to go down that hole.

Reaction scores greatly favour people who post trip reports. I am a big fan of them but a tip or loophole is more useful to me

Yes, I did have a brief look at including a ratio yesterday, but the results were mixed and I'm not sure it provides too accurate a score in the end. Perhaps if this became a standard feature we could re-visit.

Indeed, hence why we want to look at all areas of engagement, not just posts and reactions.

I find your tone disappointing and borderline rude. It would seem it's time for me to take a few days away from AFF.
Completely agree that was a disappointing response from support, particularly towards an AFF Supporter. Thought I had originally read it wrong..

I apologise if you felt I was being curt, but that was not how I had intended it to be read. I was simply stating that I had already replied to your queries and criticism of the change in a rather lengthy post (post #6 of this thread). I understand that you do not see the value in the change, and that is completely fine. This year has been a year of many changes, both on-and-off the website. Not all changes will be liked by all people, and I can't please all people. I don't think anyone can.

Perhaps I should have added an emoticon on the end of my post to show that I was being light hearted in my reply. It can be hard to convey tone on the internet for a lot of people, much less someone in my life position. My response remains as above, that it hasn't been taken in the spirit it was written, but that is true of a lot of posts on the internet.

If you would like to engage further on this topic, please feel free to start a conversation with me and I would be happy to clarify. This topic is now closed as a more extensive guide has been written to guide through some of the Xenforo 2.2 changes introduced today.
