Starwood’s largest hotel made a spectacular debut in Macau last night (Sep 20), with fireworks and coughtails helping celebrate the arrival of the first guests at the 3,900-room Sheraton Macao Cotai Central.
The property, owned and developed by Las Vegas Sands and Sands China, is the third hotel to open in the Special Administrative Region (SAR) this year, following the debut of sister Cotai Central hotels under the Conrad and Holiday Inn flags.

Starwood’s W Hotels Worldwide has opened the company’s first W Hotel in Singapore at Sentosa Cove.
Owned and developed by an affiliate of City Developments Limited, W Singapore Sentosa Cove is an urban oasis located on Sentosa, the city’s beach playground only minutes away from the CBD.

Will be staying in the W Singapore in early November so may post a review if anyone is interested. Otherwise it will be on tripadvisor anyway. Looking forward to it, never stayed in a W before.

The reviews on FT have not been encouraging to date, but I am sure just teething problems at opening. It seems though biggest problem is that you practically need to rely on taxi's/cars to get to/from the place.

Better don't expect too much in terms of service, my W experiences have been very average lately. Starwood seems to milk the brand as much as they can which shows in bad (under-)staffing in most of their properties. Saying that- the hard product itself will most likely be really posh and stunning.

Hope the hard product is nice, I'll be coming from 5 nights in a Plaza View Suite at the Fairmont.

I'll be there for the company's xmas party in a couple of months time, so I'll probably provide a review of some of the facilities assuming I don't get too drunk and still remember what happened.
