Hi all,

Just checking my activity statement for QFF and noticed that I had two lots of bonus points marked "FIRST FLIGHT EXTRA POINTS PROMOTION", one in Dec and one in Feb.

I only joined QFF in Dec and have already done about a dozen domestic trips with them but haven't seen anything advertising this promotion anywhere.

Is it just my good luck that I've got two lots of bonus points :D:D ....any ideas on how it works?

Last year in the paperwork for new recruits they were offering double points on the first flight taken. I guess that has been extended. From memory it had to be within the first few months of joining. Would suck if you flew BNE-SYD-LAX and they counted the domestic segment.

Edit: check out this thread: http://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/community/qantas-frequent-flyer-program/double-points-first-qantas-flight-19426.html

Thanks for the info Joshua; I do remember something about getting some bonus points on your first flight after joining up but that second lot of bonus points has got me wondering if it's possible to earn more....

Ah well, never look a gift horse in the mouth :D

The person I knew who got the first flight double points also had

MEL-ADL JQxx_ JetSaver Light - 10SC, 1000points

just after their double point bonus.

So yes, sometimes it's best not to ask too many question ;)

There are some promotional offers for members joining between 1 Oct 2010 and 31 Mar 2011, although the brochure I have doesn't quite match the experiences here. ANyway they are:

1000 extra points when you fly with Jetstar
1000 extra points on your first domestic Qantas flight
2500 extar points on your first international Qantas flight

Have to be taken within 90 days of joining.

1000 extra points when you fly with Jetstar
1000 extra points on your first domestic Qantas flight
2500 extar points on your first international Qantas flight

aha got it! One of my flights was JQ, the rest being QF, therefore 1,000 points for each.

Thanks oz_mark :)
