Already I'm not a fan on the HUGE banner ad that takes up so much real estate space compared to getting on with what I want to do.
For some stupid reason, that's what a lot of companies are doing. Making everything huge banners and big buttons thinking that's what everyone wants because tablets!!! under the mistaken idea that no one uses PCs anymore (or that somehow PCs and tablets are the same thing).

Now an IT person can correct me, but why cannot Qantas (and other location important advertisers) see that my location is Melbourne and have location specific offers displayed?

Surely this would be better than just having Sydney offers that are of no use to people in other cities.

I was logged in when I found the new page, and, having my FF account set to a BNE address, it was showing BNE specials.

Once logged in has always defaulted to your home airport regardless of location.

I'm talking about prior to logging in.

Everything in my account and profile says Tasmania. Web site offering me deals ex Sydney. Never mind.

I wonder if 'Remember me' will actually do that again?

One positive change is the "Remember details" option in the login box seems to default to ON at last!

I was so sick of having to click that every time.

Or, perhaps have never heard of a PC - the QF IT interns have possibly never needed to look beyond their phones and Facebook.

That's true. There are IT people at work who seem completely confused that some people at work don't have email addresses, smart phones, and have no idea how to use a computer.
They created company google accounts for everyone (not email), then don't understand why most employees simply don't want anything to do with G+ (most of the IT people don't appear to even understand the difference between a google account and G+).

Nice layout. Much better for a touch screen tablet, although I prefer to use my windows 7 laptop still.

I find that it defaults to show me specials for whichever city was the starting point of my most recent fare search.

So all the quick access to things like existing bookings, SCs, account activity are now all hidden and I need to go hunting it seems

No, they are still there up the top once you log in.

I haven't found anything that is missing, just sometimes in a different place. Overall it's okay... I just don't like that the big banner ad takes up so much space.
