New Qantas Uniform

Saw it this morning at BNE when I got off QF98. The crew didn't change overnight but the ground staff were dressed in the new uniform. I thought it looked good. Much nicer than the outgoing uniform.

The part of the new uniforms that I like best is the new name tags, that now have print large enough to read easily.

Not all the women are wearing their uniforms tight, from the 4 sectors I have flown so far since it was introduced onboard.

Just my 2c....

The uniform looks nice, and is a nice refresh of the old Aboriginal print outfits the ladies wore, but that's about it.

I believe the uniform looks amazing in the press photos and on the models specifically chosen to wear it (Hello Miranda) but on the 'average' woman, it seems a little plain. Not saying the women wearing it were plain, but it definitely seems to be an outfit designed to look stunning on a model, not for the other 99.99% of women.

The mens is OK. I'm not sure I like the French Navy as much in person as the press photos though. Feels like a throw back to the past.

Perhaps it'll grow on me though :)

International crew wore it on the 13th ex-JNB (had worn the old one outbound).

There was something I didn't like about the ladies top (dark blue/red/pink) on the international flight but then on the domestic saw it again and thought it looked good. Realised why shortly afterwards - the crew member on the international leg didn't have the scarf on - it makes a huge difference to the whole "look" and looks much more upmarket with the scarf (looks more "LCC" without)

All the crew I spoke to (female) were a bit unsure about it (mostly the fit and the fabric) although most acknowledged it was just about getting used to it. A couple commented the zip was a bit short and it's difficult to get on and off but is comfortable once on. The crews were all shapes and sizes and it certainly looked fine on all of them.

The men's uniform is very straightforward and I quite like the red/dark navy tie

I commented to the male FA on 694 on Friday - he responded "it's made in Pakistan" ... didn't have time to work out whether this was supposed to be a negative or not!!

Regards,

BD

My neighbour a Q FA called in today on the way to the airport, a very good looking woman, she looked stunning in it, was a bit of a tight fit though, I didn't mind :).

Saw a crew member wearing the new uniform casually browsing a trinket store yesterday - about 30 mins drive from SYD. Seemed strange to be wearing that out and about, OW and name badge and all accoutrements inclusive ... New "social marketing" approach for QF?

The uniform looked good, in this instance........

So when can I come over and 'accidentally' meet this neighbour? :p

Noticed some loose fitting uniforms too. And some woken wearing pants (trousers) still instead of the only way I've seen the new uniform advertised, just a dress. Looks quite stylish as a top!

Just seen the new uniform and not sure I'm a big fan , just looked plain , sorry don't want to be to negative,

First time I have flown Qantas since the new uniform is worn by everyone.

My first thoughts are I dont like it. When only 1 person was wearing it on the flight it was OK. But now everyone wearing it and it does not look so good.

It will take time getting used to new uniform.

I like it just not sure about the pink scarf going with red, some are a bit too tight.

I flew QF twice this past week. I thought the uniform didn't look as good on all the female FAs.

Went to the airport yesterday and looked at new uniform. It looks good and I have seen some wear loose uniform. Some of them still wear new uniform in the shopping centre outside the airport and downtown.

Thumbs down from me. Makes them look like a gymnastics team on tour.
