New Qantas promos including double status credits (book by 3/9/25; travel 4/9/25 until 22/8/26)

Forgot to mention that as PC member I will at least get some SC for the journey. And as previously mentioned with a 31 Mar membership year and a 28 Mar wedding, this trip was always poorly timed for me.

Wooo that s insine. You are like: "shut up and take my money" and they cant even do that. Hopeless Qantas.

I thought the infamous CBR-SYD connection to international leg was just a problem for CR, surprise it does apply to cash fare. I have heard too many times "there is no flight between SYD-CBR 11 months out" too many times. Still unclear why, but Hobart always manages those.
It is totally insane. I can’t imagine any other business making it that hard to spend big bucks. And they will probably never know that this happened and they lost guaranteed revenue because of it. If I thought anyone cared, I might drop them an email, but I’ve wasted enough time on them on my holiday.

And Hobart was absolutely useless today - they were the ones who asked why I wanted to put Mr Seat 0A’s FF no in the booking, and also who commented that the codeshare was not a QF flight and so could not be booked. I was very very disappointed with this absolutely ignorant service. I kind of expect it from overseas call centres (not racist, just conditioned by my experiences) but Hobart has never let me down. And what kind of airline has a web site that can’t withstand the stress of a DSC promotion that they initiated??

I have WP locked in until March 2026 and will requal on normal SC for planned travel until March 2027. Got LTG about 12 years ago, will never make LTP, and have now halved my stash of QF points, so I feel a genuine airline liberation coming on in the next couple of years.

I decided to burn the points as I have never been able to use them for long haul flights I want - last use for international was in 2017 - and I have poor results getting WP seat releases for international off peak travel, so they are pretty useless for me, other than domestic J rewards. And I still have a good stash for that.

I tried to change over the frequent flyer number against a booking last week (from QF to BA) and they told me I needed to cancel and rebook to do that 🤦‍♀️😂

I’m looking at flying Perth-Tokyo via Syd/Mel in J in early March and am getting a price over $7k. Does anyone know how much this usually costs during sales (it’s outside school holidays)?
Not a direct comparison, but in February this year I booked MEL-SYD-HND return in J for flights taken in April/May this year. This was booked during a sale period and I paid $5,300.

YMMV given you are originating in Perth.

Funnily enough also doing TYO early March ex PER (only for 5 days). Dumped QF rapidly despite any "enhancement" they want to offer as bottom line figure shocking. . 3.5 K business in MH and 4.2K SQ. Know who I am flying with!!

Hard call now. Do I take the double sc from Qantas on a couple of trivial domestic flights, or the $25 birthday present from Virgin business flyer?
lol

“genuine airline liberation “…….. love it! It’s what I aspire to also 😂
