New Qantas promos including double status credits (book by 3/9/25; travel 4/9/25 until 22/8/26)

Bronze 40

I'm a Bronze member w/ Points Club - currently on 196 SC and I've earned or used points in the past 18 months, so therefore I assume I'm eligible for these 40 SCs?

My anniversary is the end of November, so still a bit of time left.

I've got a CR flight coming up soon before then which will earn me 48 SCs - so with the 48 + 40 SCs, I'd be sitting at 284 SC - 16 short of Silver.

I don't really have anything else planned / everything is already booked - but even just booking a return flight for a short weekend away to Sydney before EOM November (even without DSC) would get me to Silver, lol.

The closest I've / would be to graduating from Bronze for the first time 😂

Oh Qantas you cheeky devil... They played me on this one!
Just booked a few grand worth of business travel for the next month which was to take me to within 10SC of retaining WP (with 3 months left). Then they drop this little nugget which would will easily get me there. Had this been announced any earlier I would've taken the SCs and switched the remainder of my flying to Virgin for the year, which I likely will now anyway as I'm not going to go close to P1.

Hugely helpful for me - have 2x per-syd returns to book for work and will additionally think about booking some personal travel. At the very least this makes it very easy to maintain SG which is what they are probably after. Will sleep on whether it’s worth chasing WP. Any indications on whether movie nights are done?

What's the purpose of earning WP then flying with another airline?

The SCs are useless to me (Membership year to end September).

The 5K points as PC+ member will be handy as I was expecting to be just short of re-qualifying PC+ and was going to move a few points from QBR to get over the hurdle. The 5K might be just enough to be me there without needing to transfer from QBR. Just need to be certain the 5K will post on 30 Sept as that is my final day to cross the 350K for PC+

If you can get VA status or maintain then you have more choice on your Int'l long hauls that have perks. Domestic short hauls generally aren't that different of an experience to matter too much.

Gosh I’m getting cynical

That is what the notification says.
Will the Qantas Points gift contribute towards Points Club membership?
Yes, the Qantas Points gift will contribute toward the Points Club and Points Club Plus membership requirements.

The 150SC is welcome. It takes me over 2/3rd of my way to P1. I had given up on it, but this is now a tempter with 4 months left in the membership year... 🤔

Well, well, well.

Almost booked a couple of QF domestic legs last night, but boy I am glad I held off.

Been checking fares and waiting to book some international trips towards the end of the year, looks like we'll be spamming QF for those and beginning our switch away from VA and their partners.

Green tier would net you an additional 50SC that can push you over the line for Silver

Sorry but the poster said they're going out of their way to retain WP then immediately moving to VA, to me it's illogical. Just how much flying are you doing in this scenario that requires status at both QF and VA. How many long haul internationals a year that you would need a second option to get what, lounge access?
