I read this in my Qantas members email. I never thought the business centres were going to be replaced with meeting rooms at a charge. Is that correct? I thought the meeting rooms were only available in the new domestic business lounges New Qantas Meeting Rooms We're introducing Qantas Meeting Rooms to Sydney T3 and Melbourne domestic terminals, replacing the current Qantas Business Centres. (There will be no changes to the Sydney T2 meeting rooms.) The new Qantas Meeting Rooms will offer state-of-the-art technology and a convenient venue to host meetings at the airport. Access to these rooms is available to all Qantas customers at competitive rates and you don't have to be travelling to make a booking.

My understanding is that they're trashing the computer/business areas and creating meeting rooms at the Capital City Qantas clubs.

However, the computers are being moved out into the lounge area and will still be available.

For how long have QF been charging for use of meeting rooms in QCs?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I believe it commenced 1 Feb 2006.

"Please note that effective 1 February 2006, new Qantas Club meeting room charges and a cancellation policy will apply.
For details visit qantas.com/qantasclub "

The Qantas club is being reconfigured in Sydney so that 2/3rds is Qantas Pub and 1/3 is separate Business Lounge. The PC areas and meeting rooms are also being retained although in different spots. The entire floor is going to be revamped with new decor. The business lounge will take up the area which is roughly to the right of the present buffet and business centre/meeting rooms.

Each part will have lounge areas, self serve bars and buffets, and the usual array of meeting rooms computer areas and quiet spots. WiFi will be present throughout as now and the dial up points will be all replced with broadband conector points.

New colours etc.

The QP in T2 will remain where is for now. The Virgin lounge in T2 will move upstairs by the end of this year to where the Ansett lounge was about to be opened prior to Ansett's demise. There will also be meeting rooms and conference rooms on the uppermost level sealed off from the lounge below.

cheers

Bill
